So as the dinner dance season begins - where are you getting your dresses from? Inspire me please.

Lovely DP's career means as it hits Autumn the invites to dinner dances/charity balls commence.

Now glamour and I are not close friends. Eau natural and I are.

I have nearly mastered make-up. I can stand not walk in shoes with a heel of over 4 cm.

I have 3 dresses in the wardrobe. All over 3 yrs old.

I want new dresses. I want to swish. I don't want long - more cocktail dress if that is the correct term.

I need a suitable handbag/clutch bag.

I have googled John Lewis/House of Frasier/Debenhams and I don't like much. Budget is about £100 per dress.

I am pathetic and I need help. Show me your gorgeous dresses/bags/shoes/your gorgeousness.

Shape? By "swish" I guess you want something with a full skirt? Colour? High neck or plunging?

Here's a couple of random Monsoon selections for you to triangulate your taste off.
print
sparkly bu a bit short
eyecatchingly asymmetric, but you'd need a voucher to get in under budget

Ooooooh - now I do like all of those. I love the trinket dress but that might be more day event than evening? But I know bugger all, so it could be perfectly suitable...

Ummmm thank you. Perhaps a trip to the city and the shops this weekend..

If you're looking for a bargain I found a beautiful red dress from Hobbs in boundary mill (ahem, I went there looking for a cardigan...) - it was £30 down from £120!

I've got both my dresses for the type of occasion you are discussing from monsoon. Enjoy shopping Katy
