I need to look good by tomorrow! No pressure then!!

I have no time, no money, and no chance to invest in anything that isn't on sale in a late night supermarket! I've just found out that my employer has nominated me as one of a lucky (?) group of staff who are to be filmed tomorrow talking about what a wonderful place we all work in, and how exciting our jobs are etc. The videos are then going up on the company website to woo new folk in. I don't mind doing it now that i've stopped hyperventilating but I'm also aware that unless the filming is done in the dark, I need to smarten up my act a bit. Also, presumably, wear something that won't make eyes boggle when viewed online.

If you were in a similar position, how would you 'brush up' well? I don't usually wear make-up, so trying a thick layer of slap for the first time is probably a poor idea. Are there style and colour no-nos? Nice bold scarf / accessories against a more sombre outfit?

I think most of the film will be head and shoulders, but possible a little walking around the building ['one of the best things about working here, ladies and gentlemen, is the well located bus stop just outside the building which you can see from the windows here and here....']

Hints and tips welcome. please!

Relax - you've been chosen by your employers because they obviously think you look good enough / create the right impression for the company already !

If you don't usually wear make up then you are right going full on overnight might be too much. Do you have any tinted moisturiser ? I would definitely have a splash of mascara as people will be looking at your eyes, and a dab of lip gloss or vaseline .

Yes yes to bold scarf or necklace against a sombre suit. Remember less is more so chandelier earrings probably won't work this time.

Get a colleague to give you the once over and check your teeth are free of errant lipstick and hair is styled well etc etc.

Good luck

That's very kind of you molesbreath! I shall hold onto that thought as I stumble through tomorrow. I don't own any tinted moisturiser, but I do have some powder which might be good for those sweaty panicky moments. And yes yes to the last minute once-over; we're being filmed after a lunchtime induction, so plenty of scope for disaster Smile

Make sure your hair looks good. Pay a bit of extra attention to it tomorrow morning.

Aside from that I'd say the most important thing is to be aware of your posture, shoulders back, stomach in. Lots of smiling and happy thoughts along the line 'golly gosh I really wouldn't want to work anywhere else'.
