My sister is despairing of finding a bridesmaid dress that she can bear to wear (normally only wears trousers) but that also meets brides wishes etcs. Her favourite dress so far is this uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_13,mon_13.15/6451430908 but it is too red.

The requirements are:

  1. Burgundy/ merlot colour. Not red or plumb
  2. Mid length
  3. If pos lacy vintage feel
  4. If pos sleeves

Need 2, I think both in a size 10.

Don't suppose anyone has seen a dress like this pleeeease??

Would this be any good?
next dress

Ooh thanks for that I will send her a link, only problem might be the v neck, she is not a cleavage fan (maybe I should add that to the ever increasing list of criteria ;) .

ok - how about this one from Debenhams ?

MrsLettuce · 12/10/2014 19:51

possibly?

TessTackle · 12/10/2014 20:04

any good?

Thanks all so much - I will forward them all on! They are all really pretty but I can guess that none quite hit the mark Blush on my family's behalf!

The George one is pretty close actually and prob worth a look but I can guess the fabric won't be expensive enough looking quite right. Debenhams is lovely but the pink liner prob won't fit in with colour scheme, Coast - forgot to say my sis is funny about backless but otherwise almost perfect - neckline to high? The nyla rose ones are sooo pretty but potentially too red - sigh.

Gah they looked for bridesmaids dresses in the summer and couldn't find anything but thought it would be easy when the winter ranges came in, but everyone in the wedding party seems to have different dislikes or colour schemes to consider Confused. Bride prob should have had the dresses made but there were quite a few reasons they couldn't do this.

Actually the one I linked to May be the same as the debenhams one but looks less pink underneath

Trills · 12/10/2014 22:48

I like the Dorothy Perkins one, but "exposed zip" is just code for laziness, isn't it?

MrsLettuce · 12/10/2014 22:52

potentially off brief and probably over budget. stunning.

Sleeves do not match requirements but otherwise pretty good

Colour described as ruby but look maroon to me

yumyumpoppycat · 12/10/2014 23:41

Yes that DP one does looks less pink, brill thanks Augusta - wow £26 that would def be worth dsis ordering for a look, the others all have potential too!

Mrs Lettuce that dress is beautiful but the other bridesmaid wants a shorter dress (actually app she would like a backless mini so a midi dress is the compromise! Grin) I haven't been told what the budget is but I am reasonably sure that the Ghost dress is def over it sadly Grin!

If anyone sees anything similar to the ones AugustaGloop posted but with a slight flare please post too! (Level of skirt flare has not been mentioned by dsis and bride yet...)

{Shares out some actual Merlot as way of thanks} Wine
