Christening outfit ideas

Sadly I've not been invited to the infamous 'Purple Christening' which is currently being debated on AIBU of this forum.

However I am going to a church christening in the autumn and I don't have a clue what to wear. It's not super formal but I would like to look like I made an effort.

I'm hoping you kind folks might have some ideas.

So here are the factors . . .

I'm petite in height and overweight so I like to hide my tummy if possible. I wear a size 18.

I can't wear heels for health reasons.

I don't ever wear trousers because they look awful on me. I am happiest in a dress, long line tunic and leggings or skirt and top combo.

I prefer to have my arms covered. Plus the church is probably cold.

I think jewel tones suit me best. Whites and similarly pale colours make me look awful.

I await your kind ministrations.

No clothes advice here, except to say that at our church the christening party always stand out from the rest of the congregation as regular church goers don't really dress up so smartly for church any more.
