Uniqlo cashmere. Does it shrink a bit when washed?

I have 2 ancient cardis from them which did shrink a bit, and a jumper which hasn't. Have ordered some new bits and am hovering between sizes. One looks a but big, and one looks fine, but do I need to account for shrinkage and order bigger size?

I remember seeing someone on here talking about it

I got dh a jumper last year and it hasn't shrunk at all yet

Any wool jumper will shrink if you wash it over 30C.
Cashmere and wool needs washing on a cold wash or a wool cycle in the machine at 30C.

I haven't bought from Uniqlo but none of my other cashmere has shrunk.

Orangeanddemons · 10/10/2014 11:09

I did wash it cold.

I bought some last year. I've washed it a few times and it hasn't shrunk. HTH Wink

FWIW I do't think the pics on the Uniqlo site give any idea of sizing. Everything looks much bigger than it is in RL. I am between an XS and a S in their knitwear but I'd not risk ordering online and if I did I'd order 2 sizes to choose between. There is even a difference TBH between 2 sizes that are the same if you try on in store.
Maybe decide how you want the fit- if you don't mind a neat fit go for the smaller size.

Mine hasn't shrunk. I wear size S in Uniqlo cashmere and am a small size 10.

Last year I dithered between an XS and a S in the store and came out with neither. I am a 32D but have short arms and small shoulders. I like knitwear to 'fit' but not so much buttons gape on cardis.

SofaCanary · 10/10/2014 11:49

I buy the men's in size S, cut more generously so looks more expensive.

The bigger ones sort of gaped and bagged on the hips, so did look too big. Have opted for the smaller size and a cold wash
