Hi S & B ers

I'm a totally non style person.

This year I have been invited on Christmas do with all the thin school mum clique! I need a flattering dress. I'm size 18, bust 34 h. Budget up to around £70 but I'd go higher if perfect Grin

I don't wear black. I have got some lovely pewter shoes that I'd quite like to wear.....

Could anyone help? Thanks so much...

Wall?

Catmint · 07/10/2014 23:05

That is lovely... Is it Christmasy enough?

Also, I suspect it might project horizontally from the top of my boobs....

I second the blank canvas, and also suggest scarf artfully knotted/draped as an alternative to jewellery - handy if the dress is perfect apart from the sleeves.

Sounds like we are similarly constructed so Hobbs might be worth a look - good range of sizes, flattering and nothing alarmingly flimsy or short.

Boden (on sale Smile )

... although, I do like the Wall dress!

Won't pewter shoes go with most colours?

And I'm not keen in the Wall dress, it looks very sacklike tbh. Dresses with some shaping are usually better, especially with such big boobs. I wore this dress recently when I was a 16/18 and it was really flattering and easy to wear.

I tried this one as well and it was really well cut. It's a bit more expensive (I actually think they've put the price up). I LOVED this dress but it wasn't right for the wedding I was going to and I couldn't afford to keep it just because it was fab but it was really fab. It's lined so the outer layer doesn't cling. And it would look great with pewter shoes.

I think, having fairly big boobs myself, that the Wall dress will just hang off you tbh.

What sort of do is it? I'd normally go a bit more dressy for a christmas do. What's your body shape like apart from big boobs - waist/hips etc? Good legs?

DidoTheDodo · 08/10/2014 10:14

I like the Wall dress but it looks a bit more appropriate for work rather than a night out. An I agree that something a bit more fitted would show off an awesome boobage better.
Not that I have any suggestions.... (but I'll keep an eye out)

mkmjimmy · 08/10/2014 10:17

The wall dress is nice - but I think something fitted would be better if you have big boobs. Fitted and high neckline with a statement scarf can work well with big boobs - but that might just look like a tent. Phase Eight (if you steer away from the mumsy stuff) would be a good start. purple crossover

321zerobaby · 08/10/2014 11:08

I agree with Statistically, the Wall dress will not be flattering for a big bits, something more fitted to show you aren't wide all the way down would be much more flattering. Have you looked at Peppeberry?
I like the Phase Eight dress mkmjimmy linked to, what sort of a do are you going to?

Why not knock their socks off the thinness and show off your assets - I am 32J and size 18 and try to be positive! How about something like this top with a pair of tailored evening trousers or skirt? :)

I have a few things from Pepperberry, I find them a bit hit and miss. Weird embellishments etc

Thank you so much everyone for your replies. I bought an emergency dress today, broke my own rule and got black!

I think the wall dress looks very dreary. But love Taxis Debenhams dress. Sexy and smart.
