Gillian76 · 28/09/2006 20:50

For big people?

marthamoo · 28/09/2006 20:50

Can't you just wear thick socks with an 8?

Gillian76 · 28/09/2006 20:51

M&S do 7 1/2

CountTo10 · 28/09/2006 20:52

next do half sizes in most of their shoes but you might have to order from the directory for some of them

suzywong · 28/09/2006 20:52

for me
The man at Clarks guffawed at me today when I asked for a 41, and the MN jury thinks M&S shoes are hideous.
This is the ONLY time I can wear high heels as my small but perfectly formed husband is not with me on my UK trip.

sorry!

Hobbs do 41 and 42, as do Boden. Camper also now do all their women's styles up to a 42.

suzywong · 28/09/2006 20:55

don't apologise, I liked them but The Others said "Non"

Hobbs you say, Hmmmmmmmthere's an idea

I like these at Hobbs but that is an arm and a bloody leg interms of cost when you are coming from Aussie Dollars
Anyone seen anything similar in a gyppo shop?

I love those red ones - Daisy.

suzywong · 28/09/2006 20:58

Yeah, them's the ones but I cannot justify the cost as i won't be able to wear them much at all when i get back home

Hobbs don't do their full range up to 42, or didn't last time I had enough money to shop there. The trick is to nobble an assistant and get her to go through the catalogue thing to point out to you exactly which ones are available in 42. Their 41 comes up quite big as well, so sometimes worth trying too. They will post to you from other branches if not available in store.

marthamoo · 28/09/2006 20:59

Just checked the price - £115, bugger me. I can buy the whole outfit, plus shoes, plus night out, plus enough change left for a burger from a van on the way home for that...

marthamoo · 28/09/2006 21:02

OK, what about any of these or these? As far as I can see, most go up to 43.

frogs · 28/09/2006 21:03

Whereabouts are you atm, sw? Good places for cheapo but fancy shoes in big sizes are Hackney and Brixton -- lots of African women have bigger feet, apparently, and a penchant for shiny shoes. You can get some really splendid numbers, with gemstones etc, and many go up to 42 or even 43.

suzywong · 28/09/2006 22:52

ahhhh African people's shoes, I remember a special African Gentlemen's shoe shop outside New Cross Station, my word the DETAIL on those shoes, it was outstanding

Clarks definitely do a 41 - I bought a couple of pairs last week! If you're in London, go to the branch on Oxford Street near Monsoon/Debenhams.

suzywong · 29/09/2006 22:02

that's me on Monday afternoon, and John Lewis and and and and ....hellfire the shops are fabulous here, why did I ever leave?

Oh yeah, I know, the weather
