It is in the sale and looks better on. It is lacy at the top. I tried it on when looking for a dress for a posh evening do. I am so not a fancy, frilly girl and am pushing 50. I am tall and slim and it looks kind of 1960s on. Do you think it's too daytime or casual. Was thinking some nice jewellery to do.

Any ideas? What do you think? I am rubbish at buying dresses!

It's lovely. Not sure adding much jewellery is a good idea with the collar/long sleeves/lace i can't see it working. Maybe earrings would be OK.

Some properly glam high heels and sheer black tights, smokey eye-make up and an updo or salon blow dry would make it evening-y enough I think.

Thanks for reply. Yes am thinking along same lines re the earrings. My hair is in a bob so will get it all straightened and flicked up for a 60s look. I hope it's posh enough though. It's a bit of a posh do I'm going to!

I think it would work for 70s, with the right hair. Maybe with platforms? Or boots?

Great bargains on that site!!

Have got the dress. Looks good but now I need shoes! I am not a high heels wearer. What can I get away with? Patent ballet pumps? Or patent Mary Janes? Was even thinking patent chunkyish loafers?

I wouldn't normally think they would go for a posh do but since the dress is very sixties and short, thinking such shoes might work.

Any thoughts? Or are heels really necessary?

What a lovely dress, tempted myself!

Does Coast come up small or not? Reckon I'm a 14 according to their measurements.

Lagoonablue · 08/10/2014 07:08

It is hard to tell re sizes. I have bought a 10 and var between an 8and a 10. The sleeves were too short for me in the 8.
