DH wants to change his style, where do I look?

For work my dh has to be reasonably smart, at the moment he has his own "uniform" of white shirt (always white!), tie and suit style trousers.

He's decided he wants a change and I'm delighted, and he's tried to describe what he's looking for, and I think you might call it kind of country vet style Smile He'd like check patterned shirts in browns and beiges, similar coloured v neck sweaters over the top and cords. It might not be to everyone's taste, but I'm so glad he's taking a bit of an interest and it's our wedding anniversary shortly so would like to buy a few items for him. Budget is fairly tight but they need to be good enough quality to be hard wearing.

Any tips on where I could start my search?!

My dh likes the website thread.com which is like a Web based stylist in that they ask questions and then suggest outfits. At least I think that's what it's called.. :)

I bought my DH a personal shopping session at Gap a few years ago for a birthday surprise and got everyone to give him vouchers. Definitely gave him done ideas and he loved it. Lots of high st stores do the same if you can narrow down the style he's aiming for.

Oh wow, thanks for all the tips! He came to visit (I'm in hospital with pregnancy complications) last night and mentioned that he'd seen a Barbour shirt that he liked, so maybe I'll start there but I'll check out all the rest too.
Thanks for the tips!

John Lewis also do a mens department personal shopping style consultation thing. I've just done the womens one and recommend it. Free and I didn't feel pressure to buy :)
