Which boots? The link brings up a whole page of boots.

beepbeep · 06/10/2014 09:27

oops, sorry, it won't let me do a link to just one it seems!

It's the Erin mid boots in tan. Thanks

I'm not keen, but don't take it personally. I just don't like brown at all.

beepbeep · 06/10/2014 09:41

fair enough!! thanks for looking though

I'm not a fan of the erin style. I dont think the mid calf look is very flattering. You might find a few on here like them though as they are similar to the fly london ones people were buying a few years ago. The only ones I kind of like on that page are the leopard jodphurs Grin

TweedAddict · 06/10/2014 10:23

I've got the shorter boots, I wear them with literally everything. Tea dresses, shirts, jeans and tops. So comfy, had mine a few years now and still look like new

katiegee · 06/10/2014 11:06

I'm not a huge fan of those boots if I'm honest... they seem a bit plain or something? I really like the Eloise boots though... I just wish FatFace shoes and boots fitted me, I have tiny feet

I think tan boots are the most versitle colour, I bought these recently. Planning on them being my every day boots. www.schuh.co.uk/womens/red-or-dead-grace-fleece-ii-tan-boots/1473586220/

HolgerDanske · 06/10/2014 11:09

Yes they are fine for everyday boots. Good to wear with dresses, skirts, the right jeans.

I quite like them, but I am a fan of relaxed dressing, esp in autumn, and plain is good in my book.

Asteria · 06/10/2014 11:20

I saw them the other day in RL but thought they were a weird length (mid-calf) and the sole was a bit frumpy Clarks IYKWIM. I did spot these though www.fatface.com/boots/lockinge-low-cut-chelsea-boots/invt/81891
Which are annoyingly similar to my gorgeous but stupidly expensive Hudsons - which I wear ALL the time with everything from skinny jeans to floaty dresses. They are the most versatile boots I have ever owned - especially as the aren't winter only boots

BikeRunSki · 06/10/2014 11:30

I like them. They are a lot like the DM Authentic Wedge boots. I have the dm's in red and in brown and wear them all the time in winter and autumn, with pretty much everything.

HolgerDanske · 06/10/2014 11:58

Yes the potential frumpy factor is quite high with them but I think you can avoid it if you style yourself carefully.

ElephantsNeverForgive · 06/10/2014 12:10

Thank you!
Never thought of Fat face for boots. I need tan ankle boot replacements, my really comfy Clarks ones leak Sad

Lots of ones I like on that link, thanks!

As for your choice, they are a try on and see what they look like job. I think they'd be 2/3inchs too short on me and look too much like wellies.

mommathatwearspink · 06/10/2014 12:12

I'm not keen at all, sorry.

hettie · 06/10/2014 12:34

i would echo the comments above re legnth... I have some Merrels that are mid-thigh and although I love them for warmth they are a bit tricky.... Ankle boots far more useful imho....

MaryWestmacott · 06/10/2014 12:42

I don't like the bottom of them, they sort of remind me of hotters, which isn't a good thing.

123Jump · 06/10/2014 13:01

What size are you OP? I bought some Clarks tan ankle boots last year-they were one of the really popular styles. And they are a bit small for me. Think they're a six?
They look a bit like these ones.

You're welcome to mine if you like.

123Jump · 06/10/2014 13:03

Actually very like these.

How kind of 123jump!

123jump

If the op doesn't want them I will! Either give a sum to charity or give you something in return? They are lovely boots and I've wanted a pair but budget is very tight at the min

ErrolTheDragon · 06/10/2014 16:00

123 - oh, those are the boots I've just bought, if you're thinking of getting a pair that fits better for yourself they do come in wide fitting (mine are 4W, perfect). They're great with jeans but I can't imagine wearing them with anything else.

beepbeep · 06/10/2014 17:39

123 they look lovely & seeing as the general consensus on the ones I posted is no then I'd be really interested. I'm a 6, how much are you looking for them? Thank you for the offer Grin

123Jump · 06/10/2014 18:09

Oops, sorry toddler isn't feeling well so super clingy plus school run and homework!
I'll come back in a bit after I've checked the size.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/10/2014 18:21

I like the Catrin lace-ups in the first link

123Jump · 06/10/2014 19:04

Hi beepbeep, mine are a 6! Grin
I knew when I was buying them that they were a smidge too small. I've only worn them 2-3 times, and you are more than welcome to them. No charge, they would have gone to the charity shop if I hadn't mentioned it. Shall I pm you re:sending?
I just wish I had another pair for Tweed, are you a six too Tweed? I'm usually a 6.5 or 7.
