i have seen something in the next kids range i really like, am i crazy to order in age 16 (biggest size they do), and see if it fits? its a jacket/cardigan type thing.

for reference, i am short (5ft 2) and take a 12 usually.

the Next size guide gives a size 12 with Bust 90cm, Waist 74cm and hips 99cm. It gives a girls age 16 as Chest 91, Waist 71cm and hips 96cm

I find children's things do fit me, I'm 5'3''/5'4". However the arms are usually too short

ElephantsNeverForgive · 05/10/2014 15:45

Dependent on style and bust size yes.

DD1(16) who is definitely an adult shaped size 12, not a skinny teen has a Next age 16 dress and 14 tops.

Certainly worth a go if your not too large of boob.

Sadly, I only get into children's shoes, and have had next kids sandals in the past. These days they are too pink!

BotoxednSpanxed · 05/10/2014 16:51

.

I havw ordered kids things in the past and altho they fitted, some detail here or there usually "gave it a away". Flower shaped button, or "mini" on the runners!

nipersvest · 05/10/2014 18:36

botoxed, i'll check it over and make sure its not got anything potentially embarrassing!

am rather relieved to hear i'm not the only one to consider wearing kids clothing!

I'm 5'8" and a size 12. I have recently started wearing Johnnie B. Sleeve lengths are fine.

Slightly less of a rip off layout than the adult range too Grin

Sallygoroundthemoon · 05/10/2014 19:59

I wear M&S kids coats age 12/13. I'm 5"1 and a size 8 and they fir perfectly. Definitely wear kids stuff if it fits.

Th3RunningBore76 · 05/10/2014 20:29

I'm 5ft and a size 6-8.
I wear Johnnie B age 13-14 (I can fit 11-12 but sleeves too short).
I can fit into Next age 12 or 13 as well.

pinkflaming0 · 05/10/2014 22:05

Almost 5'10" and size 8/10 - I can fit Next age 15 or 16 but it obviously depends on the style.

In the days before petite ranges became common my aunt and me had the same C&A dress, I was 14 and she was 34.

Both her DCs got married recently, at 64 she's still that size and better looking than I ever was.

I'd be Envy, but she's lovely and still married to Dad's younger brother, who would try the patience of a saint.

nipersvest · 08/10/2014 14:24

have ordered it, am going tomorrow to collect in store and will try on while i'm there, will report back on how it goes.

Boys age 16 tops fit me (I sometimes wear DSs hoodies if its bit cold around the house) but the arms are quite short.

nipersvest · 08/10/2014 19:23

my arms aren't short but i do have very narrow shoulders so can usually get away with arms on clothing. after all this, i'll probably not like it in the flesh and end up getting a refund!

Can we have a link? Am intrigued!

nipersvest · 09/10/2014 00:02

it's this grey hooded jacket. not everyones cup of tea but i have a thing for slouchy knitwear. it looks odd in the front on image as i suspect that's it in one of the smaller sizes, looks nicer in the pic of the girl wearing it.
