Does anyone have a figure like this? 32DD, bottom heavy, small waist

I am running out of clothes! I am 5"7, size 12/14 on top (32DD boobs) with really big bum/hips/legs about size 16. Small waist.

I have also got a bit of a tummy, but my top half is definitely slimmer than bottom.

I am stuck in a rut and feel really frumpy in everything. I used to wear clothes that were fitted up top and then flared from the waist, but I work in a professional environment and I'm finding it harder and harder to find things that look smart and also flattering. Smart dresses that fit my on the bottom are usually enormous on top, or vice versa.

All my friends are skinny! Envy

Oh, also, I am a bridesmaid next year and need to find a knee length ivory dress that suits my shape, if anyone's seen any.

Any ideas would be really really really appreciated! Thank you :)

I am a similar shape. 5'8", 12/14 on top, 14 on bottom. For work I tend to wear Jersey or ponte dresses - I really like Me&Em. For play I tend to wear straight/slim leg jeans/cords and stripey tees. For your bridesmaid dress, a 50s prom style would be nice. Have you a budget?

GermanHouseCat · 04/10/2014 20:40

Hello! Thank you for your response. I don't really have a budget, will comfortably spend up to £200, possibly more if the dress is amazing but would prefer to spend less. I am up against 7 stunningly gorgeous bridesmaids so want to look nice. We're all going to be wearing different dresses on that ivory theme.

I'll check out Me&Em. I currently tend to wear Hobbs dresses, M&S etc but find that so many dresses are too short for work - I like at least knee length.

Have you tried looking on Pepperberry? They do fitted tops dresses and suits for people with bigger cup sizes- (they also sell all the bras as Bravissimo )- I know all about it as I am a 32J xx

TheRealMaryMillington · 04/10/2014 20:53

I'm a similar sort of shape

I look my best in stuff with a nipped in waist, love 50s dresses, also 50s/60sish shifts. Currently got my eye on this:
from cos

Yes this is exactly it - I love mumsnet. Nipped in waists, knee length dresses. Plenty of room in the bottom half.

I love that Cos dress, could be so nicely dressed up or down.

Does anyone wear Boden?

Christ no

I always think their clothes look promising but then they arrive and even the longer length is too short, the waists are too high etc. Frumpy. Have given up.

Also midi skirts and fine knitwear - again a little tiny bit retro - seems to work

GermanHouseCat · 04/10/2014 21:04

Ha - I've toyed with ordering from there before but something's always stopped me. Good to know!

bike run ski how would you say Me + Em sizes are? I like this for work www.meandem.com/belted-day-dress-black but sizing could go either way.

I always order L from Me&Em, needs space for my boobs (32e).

Thelovecats · 05/10/2014 08:06

this?
Just ignore that it's per una! I think it comes in black too
