Boyfriend jeans in winter

I wore boyfriends a lot over the summer with a deep turn up and espadrilles or skate shoes or sandals. But I just can't make them work with winter footwear, they just look wrong on me with ankle boots. How do you wear them in winter?

I'm wondering this too so watching with interest...

I have no idea either. I think mine will be put to the bottom of the jeans pile until spring as I don't want to have cold ankles!

i'm planning on still wearing them with my Dunlops or Campers.

What about your poor, cold ankles Tea? Leg warmers?!!

If it's not too chilly they work OK with ankle boots, but I do tend to save them for the summer.

I think they look great with lace-up ankle boots (DM style)

wear them longer with clogs?

knee high socks till it gets really cold....

I wore mine with Chelsea boots this week, I was worried I'd look a bit Ronald McDonald but it looked good.

Thanks for all the ideas. The problem is that I am quite short and the only way I can wear bf's is with a deep turn up above the ankle otherwise I just look swamped. I tried them with a few pairs of ankle boots and they don't look too bad with a pair that comes quite high up on the leg so that the jeans come down over the top of the boot.

Shoe boots, brogues, etc although I love them look wrong because of the 'gap' IYKWIM. The gap looks great with bare legs but bare legs are out of the question for me when the temp drops below 18 degrees

I am braving out winter in my boyfrienmds with converse lo tops, just gritting my teeth against the chill factor round my ankles!

If you looked swamped it sounds like they're too big OP, have you tried skinny boyfriends?

I also think if you're short turnups make your legs look shorter.

You could go the other way and roll them down and wear them over heeled ankle boots to give you height.
