Could you club together with some other friends to pay for her to stay in a posh hotel for that night? When I went backpacking at 29 we mainly stayed in budget hostels but the very odd occasion we splashed out on somewhere nice was absolute bliss (the first time I think I spent about 3 hours in the bath!). It will only really have the desired effect if she's away for a substantial amount of time and doing it on a budget though.

Chantercaille do a tinted lip screen which is the best ever spf sunscreen I have used. It comes in two beautiful my lips but better shades and stays put without being sticky. You don't want to get her something bulky or heavy or expensive.
