Hi, I'm going out to see a band, more dance than guitars, and I just realised it is over a decade ago since I did this (plus 3 kids and 2 stone difference). I used to just wear trainers, jeans and t-shirt. I have no idea at all what to wear now I'm 40, fat and tired looking. Can anyone help with ideas? Ican look ok in a black dress but I think that would be overdressed. Does anyone still go out dancing, and if so can you tell me what you wear? ! E.g. trainers or heels, casual or dresses? Or does it not matter? I can't do tight and can only manage wide leg trousers. I tend to look awful in jeans, whatever the cut. Also smallish boobs and too fat arms. Any help or links would be very gratefully received!

What do you usually wear?
I think pretty much anything goes but i'd not want to overdress. I would wear black tights, knee high biker boots and a mini-ish dress or skirt.
A kimono jacket might be a good way to dress up a vest top and jeans and there are lots about on the high street not too ££

Thanks for replying, and the link. I can't do short skirts unfortunately so unless there are cool knee length or longer skirts I may be stuck with jeans. I usually do smartish work clothes, blouses, longish skirts. All definitely an over 30s look. At home I currently wear what is clean and either look pretty bad or like I'm going to work.
