Hi all, hope this isn't too basic a question, but what colours, styles, patterns of top / scarf would you wear and avoid with these jeans? I am size 16-18 so they don't look quite like the ad.....story of my life Sad but I like wearing them and could do with a bit of advice! Most recently I've been wearing them with khaki tops....

Thanks Smile

Shameless bump for the evening crowd? I guess what I'm asking is whether absolutely all patterned tops are out with trousers like this, even if the top is a block colour? Or is there some kind of careful clash that would work? And would it work to have a bright coloured top? I know it would with plain jeans but for some reason I feel like black goes best? As I say, this is probably such a simple thing but I'm on the clueless side Wink

I think grey, cream or white could work depending on your colouring. I wouldn't choose a pattern but a short with some sort of lace detail would look ok. I actually think I'd struggle more with footwear. Are you thinking brown/tan/taupe ankle boots?

Greengardenpixie · 28/09/2014 22:27

mmm..unless the colour block is large, i would avoid another pattern. Patterns and patterns are very difficult to do and get right [unless you are 3 like my dd and she gets away with it!!- the cute factor is suppose] I would stick with coloured tops. Red, black, grey and even khaki.

Thanks! Yep, thinking black boots! And wouldn't life be amazing if we could mismatch patterns the way toddlers do :-)

I have these jeans and wore them in the summer rolled up with silver sandals and a plain white vest and tee-shirt.

I have found it harder since it's gone cold to match things with them as I feel I look too busy. I have worn them with brown ankle boots and a cream/beige jumper. I have also worn with a grey long sleeved top and a navy body warmer.

I found even a cream laced blouse felt too busy so understand where you are coming from. Plain and white or cream is the way I'm going.

Thanks Knickers (!), I know what you mean about almost anything seeming too busy with them! I like the body warmer idea, might try that....

THIS might work in pale blue?
Red might also work.

I would either roll them up and wear with pale pink high tops and a pale pink tee with a navy cardigan, or with navy boots and a white to with navy cardi or slouchy blazer. Or with a mustard yellow slouchy jumper and mustard yellow boot toppers or socks with the ankle boots. sainsburys have a lovely mustard bag at the moment too.
