Quality of Zoe Karssen?

Before I am seduced into buying a £££ t shirt, what's the quality of ZK like? I've got a couple of American Vintage thirst which were ££ and have wee holes now after only a few wears. So will stick to Gap if £££s not worth the ££££. But the ZK design is sooo nice.....

I lusted after some of the ZK tshirts earlier in the year and eventually ordered a couple in the sales. Was disappointed when they arrived. The fabric was very thin - they looked really tatty. God knows what they would look like a few months down the line after wearing/washing. The edges were also unfinished - I am too old (40s) to get away with the unfinished look - looked like a bag ladyGrin. I sent them back and don't think I'd buy again - annoying because I really like the designs!

I have a t shirt and a sweatshirt with the bat print and leather shoulders. The sweatshirt is good quality and has washed fine, the t shirt is dire, it's like a rag after a few wears and washes. I've heard a lot of negative feedback on ZK stuff, I think I was lucky with the sweater, I wouldn't risk it again other than seriously reduced in TK Maxx- they do get them, but so far I've never seen a logo I wanted there.

Loads in TK Maxx at the moment, some plain and some printed. I have 1 tshirt, no complaints on quality here but it was dirt cheap.

The quality is awful, I had one t-shirt where the back and front didn't match i.e. it didn't lay flat and was all twisted, and it didn't last two washes.
I also had a bat print sweatshirt which after one wash had bobbled and the colour had faded. They use a poly cotton mix which I think might be the problem.

The Gap cotton sweatshirt I am wearing right now is about three years old and looks like new still.

I wonder if the quality issues is one of the reasons why there is so much ZK stuff in TK Maxx now. People aren't prepared to pay £££ for bad quality so it isn't selling well.

toptrumps1 · 29/09/2014 10:02

dexter73 I thought that re the TK Maxx stock, maybe those who bought once, aren't going back for more, I'm certainly not.

It's silly of them really, sweatshirts and logo'd stuff are huge at the moment, but there is so much choice and far better quality available for much less £££ elsewhere.

MrsCampbellBlack · 29/09/2014 10:04

Dreadful - the sweatshirts wash terribly.

toptrumps1 · 29/09/2014 10:13

Bellatrixie They may not be to your taste, but if you are looking for a premium brand sweatshirt, then I can say that Markus Lupfer, Etre Cecile, Rika and APC sweatshirts all wash really well, all on a 30 degree normal cycle with coloured powder.

I have now also outed myself as having a major sweatshirt addiction....

toptrumps1 · 29/09/2014 10:15

Sorry just noticed you were after t-shirts, the above goes for them too, I was getting carried away with my sweatshirt love...:)

ThisBitchIsResting · 29/09/2014 11:00

I have a tee and a bat sweatshirt and they've both been fine. I wash them the way I would delicates / wool though. No probs at all with the tee , it's fine material but that makes it drape nicely.

Of course it's overpriced for just tees and sweatshirts, but that's besides the point. I have a major sweatshirt addiction developing but would never pay full price for the brands I like - I have ZK, Marcus Lupfer and Etre Cecile ones.
