Please help - my face is too small for sunglasses!

So me and dh just had a good laugh whilst I tried to find a pair of sunglasses after losing the only pair I've ever found that fit (they were tk maxx and a brand of unheardness). I just have a peanut sized head and glasses hang off the side of my face. Does anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions of nice brands that cater for the small of face?! I want a pair that look big but cool but the big ones I tried on today were almost down to my lips!! Suggestions much appreciated.

Have you tried kids ones?

BetweenDogandWolf · 27/09/2014 17:32

Yes, go for kid's one. When I got my glasses the lady in the opticians pointed me straight to the teen section!

LIZS · 27/09/2014 17:32

I finally got a pair in Boots this year . With normal glasses I get kids.

Eminybob · 27/09/2014 17:32

Have you tried kids sunglasses?
I'm sure you must be able to get fashionable ones for, say, pre-teens? I may be barking up the wrong tree as I don't know if this market exists. Or if they may be too small for your face.

Eminybob · 27/09/2014 17:33

X posted with everyone, sorry!

foxinorangesocks · 27/09/2014 17:33

Kids ones tend to be a bit childish or too small. Unless I need to do a better hunt.

But pre teens...I had a boots fail today. Will google sunglasses for pre-teens and report back!

See this is the kind of thing I keep finding! An extreme example but still. When the websites say face shape, there is never a 'tiny' option. Googling says ray ban best bet for small faces. This is not something I've found to be true on my face.

Raybans come in smaller sizes have a look at their website

CeeceeBloomingdale · 27/09/2014 19:21

I have this problem. I've found if I get ones with a graduated tint they don't look so bad as the bottom bit is more face coloured so aren't quite so solid. I'm used to the feeling of too big so don't mind that, it was more the look tht bothered me

springbabydays · 27/09/2014 19:48

I have this exact same problem. The only ones I've found are cheap and crap so last me a few months then break. I've now given up for this year. I've tried everywhere but there is a real gap in the market for smaller stylish good quality sunglasses.

FamiliesShareGerms · 27/09/2014 19:49

Me too! I struggle with glasses too, bit when I find a style of sunglasses I like I try to buy two pairs

Have a look on glasses direct, I think iirc you can put in sizes and it shows you options.

flux500 · 27/09/2014 20:48

Ray ban wayferers (sp?) I have them and they're perfect for us smaller faced girls. Look cool too

I have the same issue and bought Kate Spades from the US, I know this is a US link but might give you some ideas if what to target here.

foxinorangesocks · 27/09/2014 21:07

Thank you! Loving the look of the ray ban and kate spade glasses. Thought this would be a not replied to thread, small face mumsnet solidarity Smile

Frames Direct have mine for a good price £75 ish.

crazykat · 27/09/2014 21:19

I found some designed for slim faces in jjb or jd sports a few years ago for DH who has the same problem. I don't know if they're still available but maybe try a sports shop.

Ninjamouse · 27/09/2014 21:20

I have the exact same problem so I'm shamelessly marking my place Grin

TheWomanTheyCallJayne · 27/09/2014 21:23

I buy my glasses from the small teen section as I have a narrow face but I found a pair of sunglasses that suit me in the adult section
These en-us.walters-opticians.com/ted-baker-sunglasses/liberty-1092-glasses.aspx?m=2737&d=26 in fact. Sunglasses are often wider than people's faces so I would say just try load on until you find a style that suits you.

peasandlove · 28/09/2014 01:41

I was going to suggest raybans too. Look for the 55mm ones

ReadyToBreak · 28/09/2014 02:06

Another one for small Raybans here! It was a revelation when I discovered they do different sizes :)
