Best hair dye to cover grey?

I grew out my over-dyed, dry hair and went natural, which is dark brown with quite a lot of greys. I'm contemplating dyeing it again (dark brown) to get rid of the greys, but I've tried different dyes in the past with varying rates of success at covering the greys. Have you found any particular home dyes to be better than others at covering grey? If so, please spill the beans!

Oh, and I do curly girl method (i.e. no shampoo, washing with silicone-free conditioner only) in case that is relevant ...

Nice N Easy was best imo but even then I had to do a full (two box) dye every 4 weeks and a root touch up every two to keep the greys at bay . And I left it on way longer than the instructions said.

I gave up dyeing a year ago. It's great to be free from the shackles of hair dye .

Yeah, the shackles of hair dye are no fun, Bunny ... you're making me question whether I really want to get in to that again! Decisions, decisions ...
