Does waterproof mascara stop under the eye blobbing?

I've found recently that I've started to get flecks of mascara under my eyes.

Doesn't seem to be product specific as I use a range of different mascaras: Dior, Lancôme, YSL, Clinique, Clarins, and it's only recently started to happen. I think it's because my eyes water more...

Has anyone found that waterproof mascara stays on the lashes better, or does it not make any difference?

All opinions, experiences gratefully received. Smile

I have major issues with fall - apparently this is the technical term for flaking! The only mascara that doesn't do it is Maybelline Define a lash waterproof. It's in a green tube with a blue band at the end. Best ever mascara, so much better than any high end one I have ever tried which always smudge/flake on me. Try it!

Will do thanks very much. Does Maybelline make a special makeup remover for the waterproof stuff? What else could I use?

I use bobby brown no smudge, doesn't move and if I change I always end up going back to this. I think my eyes must water more too these days, I didn't used to have this problem!

I wonder of it's to do with application. Don't use moisturiser on the skin before. Wait for each layer to dry. Don't over apply so it falls off ?

The Lancôme one i have atm doesn't do this though

I definitely don't over-apply, but I do use moisturiser and a primer which may not be helping.

I will try the Bobby Brown too...

Are you using powder over foundation?

Twinklestein · 23/09/2014 13:10

Yep I use powder over foundation.

However, I have the same makeup routine as I've always had and the under the eye blobbing is new... that's why I think it might be linked to my eyes watering more as it's the only thing that's changed...

Try tubing mascaras instead.

I've used the L'Oreal Beauty Tubes one (double ended in a red and white tube) - the primer isn't good, but the actual mascara is great.

I'm currently using Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Lengthening mascara and it's great too.

Both last really well, even on the bottom lashes. They come off with warm water or makeup remover.

Most other mascara smudge or flake on me, it doesn't matter what other makeup or skincare I've used and I'm certainly not applying too much. It's the same with waterproof mascara. It happens with old and new mascaras so it's not because they're off.

There are quite a few tubing mascaras on the market, No7 has one, Clinique, Mac, Bobbi Brown, Too Faces and loads of other brands have them.
