Experience with Shopbop.com? Seems to good to be true

I'm planning a purchase of some Sam Edelmen boots, which are 185 euros in my local department store. They are on shopbop.com for 130 euros, with free delivery to ROI, and allegedly including customs and tax.

I've never used this site before - is it genuine? or will I be landed with a big tax bill / fake boots - worse! - on delivery? I've tried googling and can't find any horror stories out there….

I've used Shopbop for years, excellent cs and very quick delivery especially if you pay the customs charge up front.

It is legit and delivery is usually v quick (but I'm in UK not ROI, guess it would be the same though). The Sam E boots will be cheaper because it's a US brand so a) they're cheaper over there anyway and b) it's converted from dollars. They say the customs and tax "deposit" is an estimate but I've never had to pay extra on delivery, so what I paid at checkout was the final price. Hope that helps :)

Yes they are good. Fast delivery if you pay the customs deposit, usually within 48 hours. They stock a lot if brands that we pay a premium for in the Uk and Europe. Even with customs fees and import duties the items work out less expensive than buying over here.

Yup - shop bop is brilliant

Got sam edelmans last year and it was super quick and no hidden taxes on delivery

Also look out for the borderfree website - have another pair of edelmans coming via pipeline (gap)

Also, they"ll refund the difference if they over estimate the customs charge.

have used them and they were great (I am in australia) ... except when it came to returns, it was hugely expensive to ship back to US.

Shop Bop is fantastic I love it. They have really good sales and I hold out until J Brand is on sale for 70% reduction.

When do they have their sales Zara?

Love Shopbop! Superfast delivery (especially considering it gets sent from the US) and great bargains if you like US brands.

Irish customs could charge a fair bit.
I got stung on the Strawberry cosmetic site for customs duty. I don't order from them anymore as it made it expensive

cardoon sign up for email notifications sometimes they do 25% off sales at random. They have a permanent sale section though I am guessing the sale on winter clothing will be in December/January.

Shopbop is just brill, wish there were more sites like it, styling is great too,

Shopbop is an excellent site. I buy all my jeans from them (J Brand and FRAME, usually) and even with import duty, they're cheaper than buying them here.

I was interviewed by their marketing director when they were in London doing research on the European market, very interesting.

Their customer service is also excellent and delivery super speedy.

I have also got stung with strawberrynet Holly but they try to get around customs on purpose - hopefully the 30 bucks I'm being charged for the boots tax will cover it!

I used it for the first time a couple of weeks ago for JBrand jeans - the shipping is fast, you should have your boots in no time!

Love Shopbop! They have a fantastic selection of high end brands, do good discounts and deliver fast. Never had any issue whatsoever.
