Looking for black skinny fit trousers for work...

I don't seem to be able to find any that fit just right. I am a 12-14 (13 I guess really) 12 too small and 14 too big. I don't mind if they are cotton, mix, cord or similar fabric. I just need ones that are plain and skinny. I tried M&S in a 14 they end up looking like normal trousers not skinnies, they fit on the leg fine but the waist a bit large and after a day wearing them will be baggy. Next - do not fit at all. I find their sizing way off. I don't like zippy pockets or details. Just plain trousers that could be dressed up or down. I had a pair of H&M cotton summer ones, but they have lost their colour v easily even using colour detergent and go baggy around the knees after sitting down. Are the perfect black trousers the holy grail?

Budget up to £40. Any ideas please?

I traipsed round every shop in town with dd2, trying to find some navy or black skinny leg but smart trousers for 6th form. She's tall, and they were all too wide, too short, too just plain weird as you say. Ended up finding the perfect pair in Primark for a fiver!

velveteenbunny · 21/09/2014 15:20

I need the same!

I'm a 10/12 and have the opposite problem - to fit on the waist the arse and thigh are too big. REally need something though so bumping!

ElephantsNeverForgive · 21/09/2014 15:20

DD is having the same problem with smart black trousers for sixth form. In past years M&S have had lots of styles of smart black trousers in their biggest stores.

This year the choice in Cribbs was awful.

Same size issues as the OP so watching with interest.

I bought some in new look of all places, they fit really well.

VillaVillekulla · 21/09/2014 15:28

Have you tried the 'Really Skinny' trousers from Gap? Nice and skinny with lots of stretch.

Spidergirl8 · 21/09/2014 15:45

I was on the same mission and found the answer in Zara, they're cotton mix with a side zip and £35.99. Can't post a link as not Boone, size L is 12-14

usualsuspect333 · 21/09/2014 15:45

Primark have some great skinny fit trousers for a fiver.

Spidergirl8 · 21/09/2014 15:54

Boone was meant to read online, strange auto text!

burnishedsilver · 21/09/2014 15:57

If you find a pair with the perfect leg consider having the waist altered.

ArtemisCake · 21/09/2014 15:57

Asda has some nice skinny black cords here, possibly size down as I'm normally 16-14 but 14 were fine

ThreeBecameFour · 22/09/2014 19:45

ArtemisCake - The cords are perfect. Thank you for the tip and a size 12 fits perfectly too and under budget Smile Smile
