My friend is having a lovely intimate country registery office wedding followed by restaurant by a lake. I helped her to choose the Jayla lace dress from Coast (see images as I can't get links to work today - grrrr). Now she has asked me advice on shoes and bag.... I want my advice to be right but I cant work out what would be best.... the colour of the dress is beautiful but what would it go with? Any ideas? She asked me about navy blue - would it go? She is not keen on the style of the shoes the model has here... Background to get a feeling of styles to go for - She is mid to late twenties, beautiful blonde hair, blue eyed, pretty faced, usually a jeans and t-shirt girl, size 16, generous norks, small boned and fairly short.... dolly-like danty small hands and feet Envy.... budget: high street stuff...

Smile

TIA

note: It is difficult to see on these little pictures but the colour is actually a very light green. The lace is a lighter green than the material underneath. Apple white on mint... iyswim?

This is the wedding dress, yes? (Are you sure that the upholstery needed to manage "generous norks" can be contained in that dress?)

Anyway, navy would be too heavy. I'd go for a gold / metallic colour. Will look for some links shortly. Presumably low heels, if not normally a dress kind of person?

FSG - I TOTALLY wondered that too re norks. Before recommending it to her another friend of mine and I spent ages looking at the picture and feeling where our bras sit - LOL... but friend getting married says that she LOVES it and it feels PERFECT. She is a bright lass. If bra was spiling out or she looked like she was smuggling water melons I know she wouldn't have chosen it. I seem to be having trouble opening the Debenhams link. I am older than her and she is a long way from home. So I feel I need to say the Motherly thing although she has not mentioned the question to me - She is getting married in late October - What does she need to keep warm???????!!!!!?????

I tossed the idea of silver or gold shoes in her direction and she said "Oh, maybe that would be nice... but not too high!" I will send her some of your links.

I'd keep it simple with a pashmina like this, either in palamino or some other neutral, or if she really does want a strong colour like navy somewhere this would be a good way to inject it into the outfit. Then a bag to match the wrap.
