Cartoon character costume for Halloween - I need help, big time!

I am not sure this is a S&B one, so tell me where to go if this is all wrong Wink

We have been invited to a Halloween party by a very stylish couple. It is also their 25th wedding anniversary. I know they are going to look amazing, however they dress up.

So, I am a size 14, age 48, big boobs, big bum. I don't do fairy princesses and I'd rather do something funny than try and go for glamorous/sexy (although if both is achievable, all the better Grin).

Any ideas? What character? Mrs Incredible? And then were do I get a consume from??

I could just stay at home….

Oh I went as Mrs Incredible once - double layer of red tights, knee high black socks, black cycling shorts, long sleeved black top and short sleeved red top, then I used wonderweb and scraps of red yellpw and black material to make a badge for my front. I bought a black eyemask and cut my hair into a bob Grin dead easy and all Primark (except the mask).

Jessica Rabbit?

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 20/09/2014 13:09

Or what about Smurfs?

Thank you for everybody's ideas!

I am now thinking Malificent Grin
Might be a problem as I have no cheekbones to speak of AND am hopeless with make-up Hmm

This is NOT the look I am after! Grin

Jessica Rabbit is too revealing. And the hair looks complicated. Of hot, if I went for a wig Grin

Do you think I could do Maleficent wearing a LBD, fishnets, heels and buy a cape, elbow-length gloves and the horned head-dress she wears?

I might need a professional make-up artist, mind… Confused

There's a Maleficent tutorial here, m.youtube.com/watch?v=sBsYDzDtKTk if that helps

PacificDogwood · 21/09/2014 22:25

Fab tutorial, thank you so much - I am not sure that I have the tool OR the skill to do that though Blush
I may require a professional makeup artist...

I bet nobody remembers but I've always wanted to go to fancy dress as Madam Mim from Sword in the Stone. She's my favourite Disney villainess!

I've got the figure for Madame Mim! Grin
And the hair…

Yes I would need minimal costume too Grin

herecomesthsun · 21/09/2014 22:48

i'd go as the corpse bride or morticia Adams

herecomesthsun · 21/09/2014 22:50

costumes here, and i'd look on Amazon, but I have a long black dress and i'd prob just turn up looking a bit goth.

PacificDogwood · 21/09/2014 22:52

Hm, yes, I'd considered Morticia as well, but again she'd require quite a bit of make-up and a wig or something? 'Tis a minefield.
DH wants to go as Po from KungFu Panda - no make-up but he will sweat to death Grin

Don't have the legs for her… Sad

Cruella de Ville?

Malificent is a good idea but that hat is very unforgiving.

StairsInTheNight · 21/09/2014 23:18

Or the evil queen from snow white?

Or... get a black wig, some glasses and go as Edna?

I reckon this minion would be easy to do but is quite effective.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 21/09/2014 23:45

Last Halloween my d.d and her friend went as Ant and Dec.

dinodiva · 22/09/2014 12:39

Last cartoon fancy dress I went to, I went as Dogtanian. DH was Mr Hanky from South Park...

Others attending: Lots of Flintstones, Dora the Explorer, He-man, Wonder Woman (we hated her, all showy offy in her small outfit).
