I have a little bit of money for me for once and would like some decent work clothes. Any suggestions please as I'm not good with putting clothes together!

I have had some money given to me, about £150 and would like to buy some decent work clothes. I currently live in cheap tat that is falling apart and I don't look smart & professional like the other ladies in my office. I never have money for clothes so I really want to get this right.

I'm not bothered about having loads of things, just a few nice items that work together. I am liking dresses more than trousers as they are more comfortable and less hassle trying to find a top etc to go.

I am 38, 5'3" pear shaped around size 12.

Please could you give me some ideas of what to go for and which shops? I don't want to be too trendy as things will date but not frumpy either.

Have a look at theworkwearedit.com/. I've found it really helpful for ideas and selecting basics, also some specific shop suggestions that I'd not have considered previously. Have fun!

and a few dresses Dorothy perkins:
colour block
plum
Asos:
red
floral
Wallis:
lots here
