If you were 34 and UK size 6 but not short, where would you buy clothes (after you'd stopped congratulating yourself on being tiny)?

My friend wants to know where to shop that does small enough sizes without being petite length. Must be available on the high street as hates internet shopping.

Maybe the smaller sizes are only available on the internet, much like the larger sizes?

Tkmaxx is full of teeny sizes. Designer stuff tends to be skinny and very long.

I mainly only shop at Hollister and their clothes definitely go small enough, their jeans and stuff come in long sizes too.

Congratulating yourself on being tiny. Really? Congratulations are usually for getting a good degree/the job you wanted/getting married/being a great mum etc. Odd wording.

Yes, congratulating strikes me as an odd wording as well.

My sister is very tall and thin and gets a lot of stuff in Topshop and Zara.

is she anorexic or just naturally very slim? size 6 is not healthy if you are tall.

she's not very tall, 5'3" -5'4", just not short enough for petite length.

she's not anorexic but recently lost appetite due to heartbreak. it's returning now and she's going high calorie at the moment to put on some weight. she ate a cooked breakfast, a chocolate bar and ice cream with me. does not have a history of eating disorders and i don't believe she is anorexic. Also seeing her doctor who is running some tests to make sure there's not more to it.

i say congratulations because i'm projecting my feelings about me, not her. i'm currently getting down to a healthy weight after pregnancy and would be farking delighted to be within my healthy BMI, which I think she still is. Those BMI charts are fairly unforgiving.

i would congratulate myself as that would be the result of some serious hard work. but i've lost 3.5 stone so far and will keep going. i would congratulate me. with her, I am supporting her to gain weight and took her out for breakfast.

the point is she needs clothes that fit while she puts her phd to good use without her trousers falling down. that is the point of the thread.

I find Oasis & Warehouse more likely to have something work appropriate in small sizes than Top Shop. Only a Mango concession near me so small quantity of stock but none of it is small enough. It seems to me that when you are a small size as an adult you have 2 choices - shops with big teenage customer base on the high street or rather expensive stuff. Mid price-range shops seem to think anyone size 6 is also very small in height. LK Bennett size 6 is good but generally out of my price range. I used to go to London twice a year & shop in Selfridges in the sales - now I look at ebay for barely used stuff that is out of my price range new.
