'Holy grail' hair product for holidays? Can you help?

I've got short hair with bleached highlights. I've given up trying to look groomed or sleek on holiday and have resigned myself to evenings out with wet hair pinned down with kirby grips. To be fair, I quite suit this look and DP always compliments me on it.

But inevitably it dries and friezes as the night goes on. What I'm looking for is a hair product that acts like both a gel and a conditioner, if such a thing exists?

I want a bit of hold, but also to soften and replenish after the pool and sunshine have done their worst. I do wear a hat a lot on holiday but it makes little difference.

Money no object. Any ideas?

Have you tried The Conditioner by Paul Mitchell?

Could you scrunch some conditioner through your hair in the mornings (not a full amount) and leave it on? Wash it off before you got out...the extra conditioning may prevent the frizzes later in the evening?

Cyclax stuff purchased for next year :)

This is great. Leaves me with really soft, shiny hair - even on holiday.

I use it in the evenings before going out but also take the Frizz Ease leave in conditioner and use in the mornings - shower, spray on conditioner and leave it to dry naturally.

Kerastase Soleil range have a leave-in sun/sea/chlorine protector which I use - slather it on first thing & reapply after swimming. Conditions & protects but is also light.
