SO, IS ANYONE READY TO REVISIT LEGGINGS?

I can't help noticing that leggings are everywhere! (mostly under skirts / jumper dresses)

I remember the eighties well, and i am subsequently very scared.

I'm going shopping next week - should i try a pair?!!!

(I'm a size 10, but short BTW)

God no! I looked bad in them first time round.

pesme · 24/09/2006 16:31

i believe if worn under a skirt they masquarade as footless tights but they are not fooling me. i remember wearing a harliquin style pair and my dad dryly asking me if i was going to a fancy dress party.

sweetkitty · 24/09/2006 16:33

I won't be revisiting leggings, I have horrible legs, fat and wobbly on the top, big J-Lo bum and hips and skinny calves. If I had shapely legs then yes but I'll stick to bootcut trousers. I'm a size 8 so it's not a fat issue merely I would look terrible in leggings look.

noonar · 24/09/2006 16:33

shazz, take alook at northerner's thread.

PeachyClairHasBadHair · 24/09/2006 16:52

I don't mind them under skirts but am haunted by the memories of them under big t shirts and sloppy joes... no!!!!!!!!!

So will not be doing it, opaque tights all the way for me I think

Stiglet · 24/09/2006 16:52

omg I had a harlequin pair too, I'd managed to block this out (like people who block out traumatic events in their lives) shudder I will not be revisiting!

pesme · 24/09/2006 17:00

at least they are wearing them under skirts there where too many crotches in the eighties

franca70 · 24/09/2006 17:24

My calves are too big

JonesTheSteam · 24/09/2006 17:26

Remember them the first time round - refused to wear them then, so certainly not going to start now!!

Sparkler1 · 24/09/2006 17:27

Revisit? - I never stopped wearing them

oxocube · 24/09/2006 17:34

Horrid on anyone over 16 imo. Leave them for the kids!

Yes I'm delighted. Have pert gorgeous arse and look great in them.

[smug, smug, smuggety smug]

cupcakes · 25/09/2006 10:52

But this time round leggings aren't supposed to show your arse. You have to wear a long top with them otherwise you'll get camel hoof. And look like you're in an eighties timewarp.

I might get some leggings - or footless tights - if I can find a suitable maternity dress/ top to wear on top.

Tutter · 25/09/2006 10:54

exactly what i was going to say cupcakes.

arse - pert or otherwise - not to be shown in footless tights incarnation, i'm sure of it. skirt or dress essential.

no, i won't be revisiting.

Fimbo · 25/09/2006 10:54

It's nearly winter - my feet would freeze. Are you supposed to wear them with those shooboots?

YellowFeathers · 25/09/2006 10:54

Oh they are positively vile IMO.
They don't look good on anyone, children, models, gorgeous sleb types, no one!

DON'T DO IT!!!!

CheesyFeet · 25/09/2006 11:07

I have chunky legs and saggy arse so a definite no here .

I saw a girl in Tesco yesterday, about 16, in black footless tights, mini-kilt and black top. She was wearing black ballet flats. She looked fab but definitely a look for teenagers with good legs.

Opaque tights for me, long skirts and long boots. No showing of any hint of leg at all.

FluffyCharlotteCorday · 25/09/2006 11:08

Oh well if you can't show yer arse, there's no point in them at all.

NotSoUselessMum · 25/09/2006 11:41

NOOOO!! still scarred from first time round!!
never again!

desperateSCOUSEwife · 25/09/2006 11:46

I must admit am considering it
but have been wearing skinny jeans under jumper dresses

TaraPalmerTomkinsonsNose · 25/09/2006 11:55

id love to but htink ti may be a mutton moment
i have good legs ( which is good as the rest is ropey)

TaraPalmerTomkinsonsNose · 25/09/2006 11:55

sister got a fabbo tunic thing from principles yest that may be leggings friendly
