Is it possible to get a new brand of foundation online?

Hi, I'm after a new foundation but where I live means trawling miles to get to a decent shop to try them. The best I've got is a small boots and HOF 7 miles away!
I currently wear a no 7 which I got colour matched for but fancy trying a better brand. I've got a bare minerals powder which I love.
So is it possible to find out which colouring etc to buy online or is it just not worth the risk of ending up with a really bad match?

If you can find swatches and comparisons of the colours, then it might work. Temptalia has a foundation matrix and there are other blogs that will compare foundation colours across brands.

I'd only do it if I could afford to take the risk. If I couldn't, I'd wait until having swatched the shades in a shop.
