I need a new handbag. I have been looking for months and months without success.

It needs to be cross body bag as I need my hands free.

It needs to be a similar size to the Cath Kidston one. Like this.

m.ebay.co.uk/itm/221543986233?nav=SEARCH

But not Cath Kidston because I've had enough of mine. But needs to be big enough for my stuff plus snacks, drink and spare knickers trousers for DD and usually a book or magazine.

Preferable leather and with pockets.

I'm happy to spend up to £200 but don't really want to spend much more than that.

Please help me! I'll be eternally grateful.

I've recently bought this and bloomin LOVE it. Goes cross body & has a lovely long leather strap as well as a shoulder strap. 2 pockets on the outside back and 1 zip pocket inside, plus 2 other open type pockets. I got navy as I wear lots of navy but tan looks lovely too tbh.

Mariella

Wow that is gorgeous. I may have to purchase it while I am waiting for my christmas anya hyndmarch (sp?) maxi satchel bag. Would that be reLly naughty?

CareBearWithFangs · 09/09/2014 18:43

Ooh I love that. And it definitely works as a cross body bag? I don't know what I'm doing wrong but with other bags I seem to spend a lot of time hitting DD round the head with then while I trying to hold her hand etc.

yes CareBearWithFangs, it sits low on my hip around the back if you know what I mean, like a messenger. You can also remove the shoulder strap altogether if you want, but I like using both. The strap is adjustable so it can be as high or low as you want. The leather is so soft too which I adore & it can fit the kitchen sink in it if I need to, but empty it just kinda slouches down.

ha ha Jinglebellsarenearlyhere I love the Anya maxi satchel too..

Try longchamp.. They have lovely leather bags, or for preloved designer Naughtipidgins nest or Labelsmostwante, can personally recommend both.

CareBearWithFangs · 09/09/2014 21:07

Mrsdimmock your really selling that bag to me! So far it's the front runner.

I love a good bag, CareBearWithFangs, I don't buy many tbh & I use them till they literally fall apart. ;)

I saw some nice plain ones on Orla Kiely www.orlakiely.com

I've got the Mariella too! Though mine's in aubergine. It is a really great bag. I usually get bored of mine, or switch around for different occasions, but this just does everything. I can stuff it full of kiddy stuff, but as mrs dimmock says, when it's empty it just slouches down so isn't bulky.

It's beginning to wear out a bit - I want to get hold of some aubergine leather cream to revive it!

mrsdimmock · 10/09/2014 11:10

I love mine too herbaceous - I use Collonil gel which keeps it looking lovely...

leedy · 10/09/2014 11:36

Orla Kiely leather bags are great - I'm meh about the patterned/oilclothy ones but have a few of the leather ones and they last really well and look lovely.

Collonil leather protector is da bomb as well, I have sprayed pretty much everything leather I own with their waterproofer.

miatui.com/

This brand is recommended here sometimes and might suit your needs, although not sure if they do leather.

They do all sizes/styles.

Have a browse here and see what you find.

CareBearWithFangs · 10/09/2014 17:47

The Orla keily ones are just a touch too expensive.

The second one on your list is good, helpme, thank you Grin

Just looking through the rest of the links. And had a browse around house of Fraser this afternoon but didn't see anything quite right.
