I was with dh today in New Look when I bought some to wear tonight, he said 'just remember how old you are'

He was joking I think but it's got me thinking. What do you guys reckon?

I'd hate to be mutton

Yeah but they are wearing what we want to wear, it's not the other way round!

FGS at 8/9 they should be in a Laura AShley floral number, long socks and buckle up shoes.

Northerner take a picture in the outfit and post in members' profiles. Go on!

I am toying with some and I am 33.

TheRealCam · 23/09/2006 19:59

I always try to avoid it if I wore it first time round, but was in Tunbridge Wells today and saw many many women looking great in stuff that just wouldn't work here in Ashford 30 miles away. Also my dd1 would disown me (already feels the need to point out to anyone admiring my fab sequinned allstar types from Shuh that I'm 42 and should know better)....

Mercy · 23/09/2006 21:41

Sorry, but I would say no.

Malory, you are quite right to dress your daughter in a dress and sandals (why are you now crater face?)

Northerner · 24/09/2006 16:21

Well I did wear them, I asked 20 year old babysitter what she thought and she said I looked fab (probably wouldn't dare say otherwise though )

Had lots of compliments last night actually, never thought about posting a pic.....should I?

Of course - yes! I think they look great and 30 is not old. GO for it for sure!!

noonar · 24/09/2006 16:30

i'm 34 and trendyish- went to top shop today as i love SOME of their clothes. made me feel really old
wouldnt do footless tights as am not THAT cool. i think its more about how generally funky you are, and your ability to piece together a whole outfit. footless tights have gotta be done with confidence or could be horrendous!

noonar · 24/09/2006 16:34

ps saw a sad example on a 40 yr old with a too long gypsy/ rara skirt thing and really unfashionable black sandals.

GreenLumpyTonsils · 24/09/2006 16:46

I agree with Northerner - little girls should be in proper dresses, with smocked bodices and full skirts, yoke collars, sashes, patent buckle shoes and those lovely long white socks with the patterns on them. NOT bloody playboy tops and tarts' kit. Disgraceful. Sez I.

Bozza · 24/09/2006 20:34

Northerner you looked great. Honest!

expatinscotland · 24/09/2006 20:35

No.
