School shoes for teen girls

Could anyone recommend some trendy yet acceptable school shoes. I would like them to be comfy and warm, obviously black but above all trendy as that seems to be the most important condition for my 15-year old daughter. Please recommend some in order to save my sanity as we have been looking and looking for some time without any success. Many thanks.

Not sure if they can be classed as trendy but I rather like these (there are some navy suede ones I'm fancying). I had a similar pair when I was 16 and I loved them. Unfortunately that was 30 years ago - so my grasp on trendiness is somewhat dated Wink.

Loafers?

Brogues?

Doc marten?

All ours seem to be wearing these

My DD (not a teen, she's in Yr 8) is currantly sporting leather Converse Oxfords (which is what all her friends are wearing according to her and convince me to part with the thick end of £55)
But they are soft, heavy enough to be sturdy and quite functional .

OddBoots · 08/09/2014 20:57

It's all about Kickers around here.

50ShadesOfSummer · 08/09/2014 20:58

At DD's school the trendy choice seems to be black leather Doc Martens or black suede Brothel Creepers.

Fairylea · 08/09/2014 20:59

Clarks hamble oak brogues.

That's what dd has and all her friends have either those or something similar.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 08/09/2014 21:01

My D.D is 15 and she has converse for school. They last her right through the school year. They're £45.00 so quite a lot but you save in the log run.

ElephantsNeverForgive · 08/09/2014 21:03

My fairly trendy 13y is on her second pair of kids Clarks brogues.

Her hasn't got a clue big sister has comfy Kays flat court shoes that some one my age would think of as dull office wear, but they are very soft.

She wants some brown brogues (sixth form finally, removes the black only rule).

BackforGood · 08/09/2014 21:03

My 15 yr old is wearing similar to this (without the bow) and my 13 yr old this - which I thought looked like a boy's shoe, but she is very happy with.

Thank you for all your suggestions. It's really useful; hopefully my Miss Trendy will like some of these.

patent loafer

hellsbellsmelons · 09/09/2014 11:32

My 16YO DD just got these but they do NOT look sturdy enough
flimsy

I like (mid 40's) these

Your DD might like something a bit more Chunky??

jeee · 09/09/2014 11:36

So much depends on the school - here it seems to be Kickers, but other schools have a preponderance of brogues or DMs.

Fairylea · 09/09/2014 12:07

I agree jeee. .. at my dds school they would rather be seen dead in anything other than brogues but at her last school she made me return some brogues as she would have been laughed out of the class!!

ElephantsNeverForgive · 09/09/2014 13:57

Can some one link which Kickers, your DDs wear. I can only find ones that look far to chunky and sensible (and therefore too suitable for school) for DD2 to choose them.

The DDs school catchment is very large and very mixed income. One expensive make doesn't tend to dominate, as many Girls buy cheap shoes for school and save up for Converse to wear at weekends.

DoNotLookDown · 09/09/2014 14:06

My dd wore these Kickers

She now wears these . These have last a year and a half (her feet haven't grown) and they are still in really good shape.

nada29 · 09/09/2014 23:02

I love the last ones you posted Donotlookdiwn. They look brilliant. Big thank you!
