Gentle deodorant for dd 11yrs - any suggestions?

I've had problems with deodorant causing sore itchy armpits. I now switch brand regularly and that seems to sort it. Dd has just started to need deodorant and I'm not sure what brand is best. I was thinking maybe dove? I'm going to give her a roll on one rather than spray to start with.

Any suggestions?

I and my daughter (who has eczema) use Dove for everything with no problems.

The Dr Organic ones they sell in Holland & Barrett. Very gentle, although scented.

My Dd uses the Fresh Kids one from Boots, we started her with Bionsen, but it smells a bit aftershavey.

What about the PitRok women's roll on? It's much more natural than a lot of others, and has a very subtle but lovely smell.

Sanex has a new roll on that is aluminium free and has a mild, pleasant smell.

I use one called Rock Chick by salt of the earth, all natural.

I was about to post a similar thread, as my dd has suddenly started smelling sweaty under her arms, she is only 9! I don't think I wore deodorant until I was 14 or 15. Anyway I have ordered her the "Fresh Kidz" one from Boots as suggested above. She has been using my Bionsen one this week. I might get her the Weleda lemon one when I go into the health shop, I sometimes use that and it has a simple basic lemon smell and no nasties.

Thanks all. I'll take the list of suggestions to boots and have a sniff and see which she likes the smell of best Grin

Salt sticks are what you want. Rock chic looks good.

Also look at the keepitkind website.

Helly - my DD has needed it since she was 7, but has no other signs of puberty at 8.5.

Do you mean Deodorant or Antiperspirant?

Dove is an Antiperspirant and it's the ingredients in Antiperspirant that many people have problems with.

Fresh kids from Boots is great, but it is only a Deodorant so won't stop sweating. Very, very few people need to stop or control sweating esp children so read the bottles carefully.

thanks Whoknows. Good to know she isn't the only one. She does have premature adrenarche, so she has some pubic hair that started just before she turned 8, (but not breast buds) and she had her uterus and ovaries scanned, they were normal so hopefully it is the adrenal issue which is causing the sweaty armpits. I really hope she doesn't get her period in Primary school. She has had no odour at all but suddenly last week my other dd who is 7 said to her "You smell stinky" as they were play fighting.
