We had one of these threads a while back and as I am in the UK until Thursday I'd like your bargain recommendations again please!

I'm thinking astral cream, and superdrug cleansers etc.

The last thread was a revelation and saved me a fortune!

This and its night time equivalent are surprisingly nice.

NowWhatSoWhat · 06/09/2014 17:43

Mascara- everyone likes different things in a mascara and some I've seen recommended do nothing for me. But I do like the curved silver MUA one (Superdrug) for £2.

Carpaccio · 06/09/2014 19:06

Sleek makeup.
Essence makeup, especially nail polishes - sold in Wilko.

Mrsgrumble · 06/09/2014 19:08

Catrice lip stain.
It works with your own lip colour and is so subtle but pretty. Dirt cheap.

nickdrakeslovechild · 06/09/2014 22:51

Superdrug is your friend here, Sleek make up palettes are gorgeous, mac quality at a fraction of the price ( I have both and they are equal in quality) I get all the sleek ones as they come out. MUA or Make up revolution so cheap and the cream blushers are amazing. Also barry m and models own nail polish are fantastic.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 06/09/2014 23:01

Boots Natural Collection good for v cheap blusher.

Soap and Glory lipsticks are lovely - not pennies, but usually on offer so can often get two for £14 or so.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 06/09/2014 23:11

Brilliant, was looking at the wilko stuff this morning and like the sound of the lip stain too.

Superdrug is bloody marvellous. I got some brilliant dry oil keratin hair thingy which is loads better than John Frieda frizz ease.

Obsessed with body shop vitamin c microdermabrasion scrub and vitamin e serum. Boots botanicals bb cream. These are my three staples and my skin has never looked better. They've taken years off!

Hippychickster · 06/09/2014 23:22

Mrsgrumble, where do you buy the Catrice lip stain? I've looked online but can only find reviews.

MollyBdenum · 06/09/2014 23:22

Oil cleansing method. I used to use Dermalogica, and now spend a fiver every 9 months or so on a bottle of avcado oil.

MollyBdenum · 06/09/2014 23:22

The oil does my hair and nails, too.

JaneGarveykeepsmesane · 06/09/2014 23:39

Lacura concealer pens from Aldi. I think they are £4 and as good as the YSL ones at 1/4 the price. Not quite as good as a highlighter but they cover dark circles.

Also solid coconut massage oil from Waitrose baby range. I use on all dry skin and it works really well and smells amazing - £2.99 a tub, lasts about 4 months.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 07/09/2014 09:10

Aldi make up is discontinued nowSad

Essence from Wilkos-in particular the nail varnishes and mascara and twist up eye liner pens.

Seventeen (from boots) instant glow bronzer is fantastic.

MollyBdenum · 07/09/2014 09:24

Aldi anti aging moisturising body lotion is also very good.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 07/09/2014 09:25

You need a big branch of Superdrug, the small town ones don't have all these make up brands, ours has never had Sleek, MUA comes and goes but isn't there at the moment.

I bought some Collection nail varnishes in Boots last week, £1.50 each and although they need three coats they lasted well and were nice colours.

gerbiltamer · 07/09/2014 09:44

Yes to MUA makeup, their Undress Me and Undress Me Too eyeshadow palettes are fantastic, ditto their foundation/concealer thing. My local store is also crap for decent stuff that hasn't been mauled by customers, so my advice is order online - delivery is free over £10 plus you can still get beauty card points.

DrankSangriaInThePark · 07/09/2014 12:12

Am off to a mahoosive superdrug tomorrow!

Oil cleansing with cheapy primarni flannels. Its da bomb okay so I can't do street talk but its bloody brilliant

Vaseline on your nails makes them strong and fab.

Waitrose baby bottom butter is great to slap on and lasts ages.

SOAP!! Sounds stupid but I recently started using soap as opposed to shower gel just as good but I somehow feel cleaner and the fragrance lingers. I haven't actually bought any soap because over the years I've had some posh ones as presents so they've sat in my knicker drawer acting as scented sachets.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 07/09/2014 17:08

Aldi day creams are amazing for about £1.49

Garner intensive 7days body moisturiser

ThisBitchIsResting · 07/09/2014 19:15

Sleek eyebrow stylist - great for light brows.
Nivea blue pot as a night cream.
Boots cucumber face lotion as a light day moisturiser that doesn't feel greasy or clog pores.
Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean cleanser - ok not super cheap at about a tenner but it does the job far more expensive cleansers don't, check out the makeupalley reviews.
MUA eyeshadow palettes.
Bourjois foundations - I'm pale combo skin and Healthy Mix serum in light vanilla is my hg foundation.
Coconut oil as a hair deep conditioner weekly.

Deathraystare · 09/09/2014 13:48

Boots Cold Cream - I use this in Winter for cleansing when my skin is dried out by heating. Also just bought the glycerine and rosewater. Like a moisturing toner that you put on before your cream, serum whatever. In a simple glass bottle. Tis lovely and around £2 something.
