Argh! Can't get my gel nails off

Did the acetone soaked cotton wool and tin foil 2 days ago which took most of it off but it's left behind bits, mainly the clear bottom layer from what I can tell on every nail.

So I waited until today, bought more acetone and have soaked directly in in (using the small bowl of acetone in a larger bowl of warmer water mentod) for 15 minutes and now my nails look white and dry where the polish was already removed and the stubborn bits that wouldn't come off before are still there! It hasn't made any difference at all!

What can I do now? Any ideas?

I had this recently. I gave up and the last bits of clear stuff are growing out. The acetone and fiddling really damaged my nails, it didn't seem worth fiddling any further. I'm just keeping them very short and putting Vaseline in each night.

Use a nail buffer to flatten it out, go gently though, it should be some kind of strengthener. After that you will still not be down to natural nails unless you have gone mad, I'd do a good natural polish on top and you should be fine.
