I loved it. The veil is bonkers but strangely, it works.

Gazing into my crystal ball I predict cries of 'beautiful, 'ugly', 'hideous', 'smug', 'man hands', 'Team Jennifer', 'Brad looks minging', 'outrageous', 'Where's the sisterhood ladies?'.

I think it's lovely and I think she probably went for the whole white princessy look for the benefit of her children, which is very selfless I think. I think it must have been a very emotional thing for her, with the loss of her mother and sleb status etc. I think more of her for it. It's not what I would have expected at all, it's not super flattering, edgy or high fashion, it's a proper wedding dress

Sorry to disappoint squoosh Hmm

I don't think she choose it selflessly for her kids, I just think she chose what she liked and unfortunately chose that.
I don't think ive ever seen her in anything that I thought was that flattering, she has weird taste IMO

It looks like a child's drawing of a wedding dress which as far as i'm aware its been a long time since Donatella Versace was a child. I think its safe to say I don't like it, but obviously others do and she did, so I doubt she'd be bothered.

Having the kids drawings all over it IMO was done to give another angle on the wedding for the press, I seriously doubt they'd have felt left out of things if they hadn't been allowed to do it.
Plus it stops people bashing the "our wedding marks ten years since we fell in love when Brad was still married and supposedly committed to his ex " too much as its a family wedding. But then I'm a big cynic.

A long thread on this here - Angelina-Jolies-wedding-dress?

I hope this thread doesn't dissolve into the bitch-fest that the other thread dissolved into.

On another note, I'll bet there will be umpteen copy cat dresses and veils spawned from this.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 04/09/2014 16:42

Thanks, MrsLettuce, somehow I'd missed that one!

I don't think I like it. It's not the doodles - they're not me, but good for her if that's what she wanted - but the dress itself. It's just a bit... Nineties. I remember wearing dresses with that sort of gypsy-ruching and spaghetti straps back when I was a nipper and going clubbing.

But then I did see a 90s gypsy style dress listed as "vintage" on Etsy the other day so maybe it's all coming back into fashion!
