...what would you buy? Am off to the shops tomorrow for some serious retail therapy - am still knocking about in faded jeans and t-shirts which I needed to replace before I had dd a year a go - some of which are from student days. Been promising myself an over haul for a while but just haven't got round to it. Don't want to have to re-morgatage but need some good basics.

I'd buy the basics that never go out of fashion (well fitting jeans, white shirt, white t-shirt, black skirt etc etc) and funk it up with whatever's in fashion at the time (cardigan, scarf, corsage etc etc)

Or if I won the lottery I would just buy most of the Boden catalogue, especially those non-iron shirts that come with their own storage bag!

Tutter · 22/09/2006 13:26

as an absolute minimum:-

2 pairs excellent jeans - one shorter and lighter for days, one longer and darker for nights

1 pair chunky day boots and 1 pair sparkly shoes

gazillions of t-shirts and little tops

one or two jumpers

an expensive belt

Mateychops · 22/09/2006 14:04

Agree with Twigger, but why one shorter and one longer pair of jeans? Do your legs get longer in the evening, you lucky, lucky person? I'd also add a good coat - you can shove any old $hite underneath, and you will still look good.

DumbledoresGirl · 22/09/2006 14:06

Good bras - wearing a rubbish bra makes you look bad in whatever you are wearing.

milward · 22/09/2006 14:06

Love my long black coat in the winter - can wear anything & still look fine at school! - just hope I don't have to take my coat off!!

iota · 22/09/2006 14:07

I wold assume that longer jeans are for wearing with high heels MC

MrsBadger · 22/09/2006 14:08

short jeans are for wearing with trainers, flipflops, flat boots etc
long jeans are for wearing with heels.
Not interchangeable IME!

Mateychops · 22/09/2006 15:02

Ah, now I understand!

Tutter · 22/09/2006 18:40
