Please come & tell me your "lose a few pounds quick" tips

I am desperate to lose the last few pounds of medication-induced weight gain (2 stone in total and am now 6lbs away from my end goal). I don't "diet" as a rule - I eat healthily and monitor my intake using My Fitness Pal & exercise four times a week using Jillian Michael's workouts (without eating back the calories I burn, IYSWIM).

It has been a long & tiresome road to where I am now and I am thoroughly fed up and want it gone. So I'm looking for a quick fix "drop a dress size" type plan.

It isn't sensible, I'm sure, but I just need to be able to wear my clothes without feeling like I am spilling out of them.

Any tips? I am sure there have been similar threads on S&B before but either my search technique is useless or I have imagined them Grin

Cut out carbs/sugar. I lose weight quite easily when I stop eating bread, rice, pasta, chocolate etc. Although I'm rubbish at sticking to it at the moment but going to start fresh soon!

There's a fab low carb boot camp in the weight loss section here ran by BIWI which has loads of tips and great support. It may be worth checking out Smile

Drop carbs for a quick weight loss I would say, but then introduce them carefully and slowly as going from none (or practically none) to loads again can play havoc with your digestion! Also cut out alcohol and fizzy drinks (even the diet ones) and caffeine. Just drink lots of water! Good luck, just don't stick to extremes once you've lost it as it's not healthy long term!

Thanks for those ideas. No carbs I can do. The sugar thing though - does that rule out fruit too? Or just processed sugar?

I don't drink caffeine or fizzy drinks but I do drink wine so I'll knock that on the head too.

Will have a look at the low carb boot camp threads too.

Do the low carb boot camp, it's 2 weeks of being really strict but it's amazing how your taste buds are retuned, chocolate tastes horribly sweet after it.

Porridge and blueberries for breakfast.

Homemade soup - usually lentil and spinach, for lunch

Homemade soup - usually mixed bean and veg, for tea

If you are still hungry eat a few spoons of cottage cheese!

I'm veggie though, so I find low carbing a real struggle

No added sugar ie fruit and milk ok only
No obvious carbs ie bread pasta spuds
No alcohol
Water to drink no squash etc

Give up butter. I know it's allowed in low carbing, but I find giving it up means I have very little desire to eat bread, crackers, toast, crumpets, which are my normal diet downfalls.
