I had my very thick, wilful hair cut on Saturday. It had got very long, hot and heavy so I wanted it all chopped off. Requested a bob that sat a few inches under my chin but warned hairdresser that, when dry, my hair bounces up and has potential to look like a mushroom if layers and length are cut too short. It also has a very strong wave in it and will puff up whenever it can. Clearly the girl had little understanding of how my type of hair works and hadn’t bothered to listen to me so she proceeded to cut it to just a few inches under my chin while it was dripping wet. She dried it and now, not surprisingly, my ‘bob’ rests on my chin. She didn’t bother thinning the ends properly so the past few mornings have been spent dragging my straighteners through the blunt ends to cut them to try and force them curl under but I still end up feeling like I’ve got a puffy helmet on my head.
I have another haircut booked for this weekend with a salon that I trust but were too busy to fit me in last week. What can I tell the hairdresser to do? Should I even bother turning up with so little hair for her to play with? I certainly don’t want to go any shorter and am reluctant to have more layers but I am desperate to have some weight cut out of it and turn this bulbous mess into the swingy bob I have had in the past. Thoughts please!
