If you had about £80 to spend on a new watch

What one would you get?

I'm quite tempted by an Olivia Burton watch but haven't done much looking around.

I think I'd like a dark leather strap again (current watch is silver) and something with a bit of a vintage feel to it, but a lot of those have gold faces and my rings are silver-coloured, so not sure it will match.

Any lovely ideas?

Skagen?

I've got the Olivia Burton ladies midi. Originally ordered the Big Dial but wasn't me. I have a cream strap with rose gold face so quite summery, a dark strap for winter would be great.

I came on to say olivia burton.

Vitalstatistix · 01/09/2014 17:37

I'd get one like this for about £20 and spend the rest on booze and chocolate.

I like the Olivia Burton midi watch but am having the same dilemma re gold watch with silver jewellery. I think I would prefer a tan strap but don't really do gold. Rose gold would be nice but they don't do rose gold in the midi style. The oversized one would look ridiculous on me. Does a gold watch look ok with silver?

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 01/09/2014 20:51

id get this one and not care about silver jewelllry as its so beautiful.

CointreauVersial · 01/09/2014 21:20

I have a lovely Skagen one with a silver strap and a gold face, so it goes with ALL my jewellery. Canny, huh?

It might have been nearer to £100, but it is a gorgeous watch, slim, sleek and classic.

Thurlow · 01/09/2014 21:34

Some gorgeous suggestions - I'll have a good look through the Skagen ones.

I kind of know what I want but I can't quite find it. Brown leather strap, slightly vintage look... I think I'm picturing a watch I had when I was 18 and don't quite remember properly though Grin

Try Boccia, they're lovely quality: bit over budget, oval face, rectangular face

YWurri · 02/09/2014 08:30

I bought my Dad a Timex indiglo watch 17 years ago and it's still going strong. He always boasts to everyone that it's only ever needed one new battery, too (he wears it every day).

I'm with Cointreau on this one - got my lovely gold/silver Skagen from this site - it was just a little over your budget. And I get loads of compliments on its slender gorgeousness!
