Colour would be nice, yeah. Most go with navy, TBH. What's you're ideal heel height? Shoe size? Budget for bag and shoes? Do you have a suitable coat or something for keeping warM?

Sarsaparillajones · 31/08/2014 22:20

Shoe size 3, small heel say 1-2inches, have lovely navy coat, not worried about show budget but not silly money for bag?

I like turquoise/jade greens/teal type colours with navy, or pinks.

Grey or nude would be safe choices but I would go for colour. You could wear nude tights/nude shoes but add colour with bag and other accessories. If you're wearing the coat a brooch could be nice. Will leave the actual accessories to the more qualified!

The invite says No Black but you're going with v dark navy on dress and accessories? I'd rethink the whole thing tbh with you. My guess is no black is shorthand for nothing funeral, and navy is pretty up there, no?

PrimalLass · 01/09/2014 09:29

A fushia-coloured necklace would look nice with that dress

PrimalLass · 01/09/2014 09:30

Oops, fuschia

Carpaccio · 01/09/2014 09:39

Nude heels, a thin simple gold bracelet, earrings, gold cocktail ring and a clutch bag, maybe like this: uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_23,mon_1.20/6440471200

Yes to fuchsia, or even orange, lime green or turquoise/bright blue possibly. Would def pick a bright colour if invite says no black.

Lovely dress.

MrsLettuce · 01/09/2014 11:40

shoes?

either of these hats? hat or hat

You'd need colour in the the bag, for certain

hellsbellsmelons · 01/09/2014 14:21

I'd be doing turquoise or red or even orange.

minkah · 01/09/2014 14:25

What colour you wear with it depends on your colouring.

It's a lovely dress. I'd go for bluebell shades as accessories, to soften the navy -ness.

PrimalLass · 01/09/2014 15:23

FFS I spelled fuchsia wrong twice. I am a copyeditor ...

TheVeryThing · 01/09/2014 18:46

Lovely dress, what about silver (or other metallic) shoes and a clutch in a bright colour?
Agree that teal, red or fuchsia would be lovely with navy.

disgracefullyyoung · 01/09/2014 20:23

Nice dress. As Minkah said, bluebell would look good - or cobalt/turquoise/anything bright blue.

Sarsaparillajones · 01/09/2014 20:33

Thanks guys appreciate the comments. Lots of good ideas like the jade / fushcia - I do have some v bright pink heels ( which I can't walk in Grin

time fair point I think I feel mutinous since most of my wardrobe is black but yes with a splash of colour should be brightened up ok.

I'm very dark haired, pale skin so the navy looks really nice and any of the suggested colours could work.
