What should I wear to my 40th party?

Having a casual party soon and want to look good for it. I am Size 16 and like to cover my arms. Nothing too short. I would like a striking dress and can spend up to £200. Is there anything nice out there? Please help!

Will a £200 dress go with the casual party? Just asking, i have no idea.

Very nice! What's your body shape? Any colours you tend to go for or that you think suit you? Maybe give your colouring if you're not sure.

I am size 16, freckles, blue eyes, light brown hair and about 5'7. Have put on weight since having children so don't want skin tight dress! Want to feel special - I have a severely autistic son and my mother has dementia and is in a nursing home. This is my first party in a long time and I have many dear friends coming, many who have helped both my son and my mother. £200 is absolute maximum - just want to look different to my usual jeans and maxi cardi!
