Cigarette pants in A/W - footwear question

EdithDickie · 29/08/2014 07:04

Sorry if this is a daft question! Am a bit clueless.

I have some lovely skinny cigarette pants that I have worn a lot for work over the summer with high sandals.

Can I still wear them in the cooler and cold weather? What sort of shoes would work?

Thanks wise style gurus Smile

I wear with R&B brogues or some wedge point courts.

Floellabenjamin · 29/08/2014 07:14

Can I ask where your trousers are from? I need some new ones

EdithDickie · 29/08/2014 22:23

Cool, thanks Smile

Is there any way I can do boots? I like warm feet when the weather turns...

Mine are the "ultimate capri" from Next but they hit my ankle so I don't really think of them as actual capris.

I wear my cigarette pants with heeled ankle boots in winter clarks Kendra, think they're doing them again this year. Bit like the ankle boots k middy wears, but about a fifth of the price....

lordnoobson · 29/08/2014 23:51

I ear them with ankle boots. Short close fitting ones. I sometimes roll the trouser up a hems length

Go for a more relaxed look with Chelsea boots, so they gather a little at the top of the boot. Pointy loafers. Brogues.

lordnoobson · 30/08/2014 11:23

Yes. My legs too skinny for c boots and crops :(

frankietwospots · 30/08/2014 13:19

I'm thinking of trying these with my Boden bistro crops:

lordnoobson · 30/08/2014 16:43

Yikes.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/08/2014 17:01

Don't like those, Frankie. Sorry. Lots of much nicer (and leather) loafers around.

I wear mine with nude popsocks (gimmer) and heels, or with heeled ankle boots. Just bought these too, which I'm hoping will work with the popsocks.

And if anybody is after heeled ankle boots, these are absolutely gorgeous irl.

RonaldMcDonald · 30/08/2014 17:13

brogues or stilletto pointy boots

RonaldMcDonald · 30/08/2014 17:14

last year I tried the patterned socks and brogues thing
i looked a dick
this year I also will be wearing gimmer pop socks

frankietwospots · 30/08/2014 19:05

Actually you're right - they're minging aren't they. But I do fancy these navy brogues from Tesco: www.clothingattesco.com/shoes+boots/f+f-cut-out-brogues/invt/bk421214

frankietwospots · 30/08/2014 19:06

I'm with you on the popsocks Remus. Have to be matte though, not remotely shiny.

lordnoobson · 30/08/2014 20:17

its a bloody weird thing, isnt it? Smile

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 30/08/2014 21:43

Patterned socks and brogues never going to be pull-off-able unless you are Alexa Chung-esque, I think - or on the golf course maybe.

EdithDickie · 30/08/2014 22:12

Haha sadly am not at all Alexa Chung sequence!

I love the Kendra ankle boots. And I got paid yesterday so.... Grin

One last question - is it at all acceptable to wear your cigarette pants tucked into long boots?

OP posts:
KristinaM · 30/08/2014 22:25

I wear navy patent loafers with my navy cigarette trousers . I don't do black. Or visible socks

Once it's too cold for bare ankles I move to longer trousers and ankle boots .

RonaldMcDonald · 31/08/2014 01:20

lol @ Alexa Chung but I agree that this must have been what I was thinking at the time
I was going through a bit of a thing at the time and so might have looked like her skinnier mother
tragic non the less

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/08/2014 10:08

Really not sure about tucked into long boots. I think you'd probably get that funny 'farmer-effect' bagging at the knee.
