How about woolovers?

nevergoogle · 28/08/2014 21:03

femme costa at john lewis

i haven't heard of either femme costa or woolovers. any good?

is woolovers a normal shop? all the duty-free bit sounds odd.

Yes it's a normal, mostly internet/catalogue shop. I think the duty free bit is for people outside the UK (EU maybe) who don't have to pay VAT.

dexter73 · 29/08/2014 07:56

Woolovers is often mentioned on here and I have bought from them myself. They have good customer service. I haven't heard of Femme Costa but I would give that jumper a swerve anyway as it is 50% acrylic.

Stealthpolarbear · 29/08/2014 07:59

Can't help but love the title :o

PiratePanda · 29/08/2014 08:02

John Smedley. Pricey but excellent quality and multiple colours and necklines in plain knits. Woolovers quality is crapola; I'm so disappointed with my purchases from them.

nevergoogle · 29/08/2014 11:02

SPB; why thankyou. Thanks all. Crisis over, have found one on the hobbs website and also ordered the acrylic one as a backup. Will return one.

Now, necklace issues. (blatantly ignoring the hives and anaphylactic reaction experienced this week and focussing on job interview attire) Everything is fine, nothing to see here! No death defying nonsense from nevergoogle here. nope, not at all. well, not more than twice in 6 months. Hmm

Ooh job interview, what's the job?
And how is the smallest dragon doing?

nevergoogle · 29/08/2014 22:25

two interviews, don't want to say too much right now, but will get back to you afterwards.

littlest dragon is amazing. just lovely. and a surprising red head! 5 months old already and giggly and happy and huuungry (I've lost 3.5 stone since pregnancy weight, he's a good lad)

Wow 5 months :)
Good luck. Sounds mysterious, I've heard secret agents wear dark brown crew neck sweaters. Let us know how you get on

nevergoogle · 31/08/2014 22:20

the ladies love milk tray... hang on that was a polo neck.

oh my word, the hobbs one arrived and it has shiny buttons on both shoulders. i look like i'm in the military. returning it and going back to my v-neck.
i love that internet shopping allows me to get stuff without dragging 3 kids around the shops but jeez, it's a bit of a faff when stuff isn't right.

OP posts:
nevergoogle · 04/09/2014 00:58

didn't get it. cancelled other interview as heart not in it.

fuck everything.

i expect it had nothing to do with the sweater.

:( sorry ng. Job hunting is a bitch. Don't let it put you off any further - do you have anything else coming up

nevergoogle · 04/09/2014 10:26

thanks spb, i woke this morning with lots of business/social enterprise ideas. got another 5 months or so to get a plan together before my mat leave ends and i have to go back to my 'very good, but not quite doing it for me' job.

feedback was that i gave an excellent presentation and interviewed really well, they liked me. just other candidate did better in interview.

cock.

I broke every rule in my own book and bought a jumper from a charity shop with the following characteristics:

  1. It was from Next.
  1. It was made of cotton but possibly with polyester blended in. I'll never know, as I cut the label out with my nose in the air.
  1. It has a crew neck.
  1. It has 'leather' elbow patches a la Mr Parkinson the geography teacher, and if any cows were harmed in it's manufacture I will eat my Hush Puppies.

That jumper has served me so, so well. I wear it with a white shirt with rounded collars, with little flowers on. It's not my style at all but it just works.

I freakin love my polycotton crew neck from Next :)

nevergoogle · 04/09/2014 11:27

sounds fab! geek chic and all that.

nevergoogle · 04/09/2014 11:28

my shirt had rounded collars too. so sweet. (in a hardnosed professional way)
