What colours should I buy for a capsule wardrobe?

I'm ethnically Chinese: black hair, brown eyes, skin normally pale but tans moderately easily.

Does that make me a Winter?

So what colour clothes should I buy? I've Googled "winter colours" but it seems to involve everything, even reds and yellows which I'd have thought would be more summery? How do you decide if something is a winter colour?

It's not so much the colours themselves as the particular shade or hue.

Winters would wear a strong jewel-bright blue, while an Autumn would go for a softer duck-egg shade.

If you've got an iPhone you can get a "colour me beautiful" app. Obvs it's not as good as getting them done but it gives you your basic colours and I a always use it when buying something just check the shade next to the garment. I don't buy any other colours and all my clothes just go together now really.
