Is there such a thing as a nice jumper/sweater?

Something that will help hide a flabby tummy? Something that would look smart for work but equally good lounging in front of the fire? Something that can be washed in the machine?

My winter wardrobe needs a serious overhaul so non-jumper/sweater ideas also gratefully received.

No budget, prefer cheap but don't mind paying out for quality.

I am looking for this too. Have found it really hard to find anything that isn't nylon. Hardly any jumpers are purely natural fibres (not on high street anyway). There was a nice merino jumper in M&S but it was itchy.
