After lots of help on here I tried this dress on and it looks fab. Really flattering. What shoes and bag should I buy? I can't do sky high heels and I haven't got loads of money www.frenchconnection.com/product/Woman+Collections+Bestsellers/71CCE/Imperial+Silk+Wrapover+Dress.htm

love it, but where are you going?

Onedropoflove · 28/08/2014 14:00

A wedding next week. It's late in the day and goes straight into the night do.

I was thinking wedges

I like the shoes the model has on or wedges.

MorelloKisses · 30/08/2014 20:28

Sorry, I forgot about this thread!

Have you had the wedding yet?

If not is that red in the dress? If so I'd go with a red bag...clutch? Personally I don't seem to ever choose wedges (not sure why) but they are very in... grey shoes look good though.

You'll probably need something to keep warm in...I love this

Onedropoflove · 30/08/2014 20:41

That's lovely but out of my price range really as I don't think I'd wear it again. Tomorrow's my only day to go shopping. It's a reddy orange in it. I don't really want to get a tan done I think I want to wear thin tights.

Maybe a grey jacket?

shoes

funky shoes

orange bag

red bag

Justinepants · 30/08/2014 21:48

I rather like these or these but I do think red would look good too.

MorelloKisses · 30/08/2014 21:49

Sorry
orange

Justinepants · 30/08/2014 21:51

Very cool

Justinepants · 30/08/2014 21:53

Love the orange bag

Onedropoflove · 30/08/2014 22:09

I can't wear massive heels and unfortunately my bleeding bunion puts paid to lovely cheapie pointed shoes I'd last about ten minutes!

Justinepants · 30/08/2014 22:27

Are these too high?

MorelloKisses · 30/08/2014 23:01

You will need closed toes for tights. Don't have to be pointy though.

Onedropoflove · 30/08/2014 23:03

I like them I wonder if they'll be in their normal shops

OP posts:
Justinepants · 30/08/2014 23:16

You can get sandal toe tights.

Justinepants · 30/08/2014 23:19

I think you can get Next things delivered to your nearest store for free.

Onedropoflove · 31/08/2014 09:15

I've ordered them but I still need to go shopping to look at jewellery and a decent but cheap slip.

How did you get on?

Just wanted to say that I love this dress - looks gorgeous in the pic, I want one!!

Onedropoflove · 31/08/2014 16:55

I'm in john Lewis now. Haven't got very far! I'm pleased with the dress I've tried a few more on today but nothing is as flattering. I need a slip and maybe a big necklace? Thinking of having hair up.

OP posts:
KoalaDownUnder · 31/08/2014 17:06

Maybe a silver-toned necklace? One of those that has multiple strands of different lengths, or just a chunky silver 'statement' necklace (making sure it doesn't interfere with the neckline, of course. With a silver or black clutch?

One of those artfully-messy up-dos with sticks skewered through it would look fab.

Onedropoflove · 31/08/2014 18:21

Oh god, what does interfering with the neckline even mean?

OP posts:
KoalaDownUnder · 01/09/2014 03:13

Oops sorry - I just meant, make sure it doesn't overlap the neckline of the dress, or get caught under the fabric, and make it look messy - with that dress, I'd go with a necklace that wasn't too long or complicated.

How did you get on?

Onedropoflove · 01/09/2014 07:27

Went to Zara and got a thick silver necklace. I've found a pair of black KG wedges in my cupboard I'm wondering if black will be too much though?
