I've had my hair cut short recently, I blow dry then use straighteners then sort of mess it up a bit, the problem is after a few hours it looks like it's all split ends and very dry, I have done the coconut oil treatment and left it on for ages, also I use heat protection spray when blow drying it, what am I doing wrong, all suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks

sounds like you are doing too much too it (although I don't have short hair so I could be wrong!)

could you try using less treatments and/or stop using straighteners as well as hairdryer for a while to see if it makes any difference?

My hair is short too, if it gets to the "needs cut" stage, it gets fluffy.

Do you wash it every day? I've cut down to every other day but it will get soaked in the shower on non-wash days.

How long have you had short hair? It does sound like you're doing alot with blow-drying and straighteners.
Are you growing it out or is your style wrong for what you want. It shouldn't really take all that work. What was your hair like before?
I had fairly straight hair in a one length bob , had it layered which didn't work, then had it cropped. Much better, I'm not fighting the natural wave, I can wash and scrunch in some spray gel or wax depends on my mood.

Maybe go back to the hair dressers. You need someone who wants to work with short hair and the texture of your hair.
Maybe a permenant dye (you can use one the same shade if you don't want a change of colour) it can give more 'body' and conditiion.

Don't wash it so much. Is it curly/wavy? If so try Aveda's new straightening stuff, it makes blowdrying much smoother and straighter and lasts days.

Don't wash it every day, my hair was shoulder length now cut to nape of neck , I've never been good at blow drying my hair and that is why I use the straighteners to try give it a bit of hight (maybe wrong thing to do ) I also have high lights in it
