What to wear with brown tops <properly stupid question alert>

Hello from a very unstylish person Grin

I am trying to have a clear out and chuck away stuff I haven't worn in ages. However having just tried on various tops I do like them/they fit me/look OK - but I think the issue is not having things to wear them with. For example I have a few brown work-y tops/jumpers - but I just realised I have no idea what to wear them with. They don't go with black/blue/grey trousers, I try to avoid jeans for work, and wearing them with brown trousers is too much brown.

For reference I am 40, a 14 and like slim-not-skinny fitting jean-type trousers.

Any help much appreciated!!

Camel or beige looks nice with Brown, bit less safe options - mustard, khaki green, tomato red.

I am always on the look out for Brown tops but can never find any.

Chocolate brown and teal / turquoise is nice.

Love brown and agree it looks best with camel/beige colours as well as orange, mustard and turquoise.

Can go well with animal prints too.

I had a chocolate brown M&S top that I loved with brown flat shoes and a stone/beige loose fit trousers and jacket.

And a chocolate brown chenille jumper that I loved but it developed holes Sad with a pair of grey/brown pinstripe leggings.

And YY a subtle animal print is nice

I like it with plums and purples, also with some greens, reds and, as some other posters have said, orange, teal and mustard but it does depend on what shade of brown you're talking about. I think very dark brown goes with almost anything, including black.
