Hi all - I am channelling Agyness Deyn circa 2009 and chopping my hair into a earlobe length blunt bob with a heavy fringe. I have naturally mousey hair which currently has a growing out John Frieda light brown permanent colour on. I want to go that ice blonde Agy is/was. Full on peroxide. Can ANYONE advise as it'll have to be a home job.
I dyed my hair very blond in my 20's and it looked like a banana was on my head. But I was naturally a blond until I was 19. Any advice/lessons learned/wake up calls appreciated!

Bleach it, then use a silver shampoo and conditioner to get rid of the yellow tones.

CharlieSaysAlwaysTellYourMummy · 27/08/2014 10:24

Thank you! The yellow is my fear.

Do you do your hair? do you have a go to peroxide 'brand'? Sorry for the questions!Thank you!

I think you have to bleach it, then dye it using a very light ash blonde.

Then use a toner - boots sell Scott Cornwall ones which are ok, and use the purple shampoo.

And loads of conditioner.

I use L'oreal Platinum Xtra,on mousey hair, which comes out wonderfully white.

Thank you! Was looking at the Bleach London kits but the reviews seem mixed.

I meant Extreme Smile I really never expected such good results.

I used loreal platinum to bleach my hair, then provoke touch of silver to stop it looking brassy.
I went one step further to silver using directions- you can use it as a toner aswell.
Strand test is really important, as is patch test.

Afterwards, your hair will be porous and stretchy- get a good protein reconstructor and a moisturising mask. I like redken extreme. Be careful with washing, no vigorous towel drying or combing when wet etc

I miss my white hair!

Thank you!

Try Bleach London products, especially toner once bleached. Maintain with silver shampoo and conditioner.

No advice but IT SOUNDS AWESOME. I would love, love, love to do that to my hair Grin

CharlieSaysAlwaysTellYourMummy · 28/08/2014 10:40

Thanks Grokette! I am sort of on my way to having a crop so I though I would do this to my hair while I don't need to worry about the condition of it for too long. bring on the bleach!

Word of caution about an ice blond crop. I had one, loved it, but within 3 days you could see pin pricks of dark roots. 3 days!

It lasted 6 months before I lost the plot with the root growth needing redoing.
